As someone who worked in food service for 6 years, the behavior I encountered is unacceptable.
For starters, I had to call the store several times before someone finally picked up the phone. I explained I wanted to order custom pints and the girl who answered the phone stated I could do it through DoorDash. I explained that the app doesn’t let you order a custom pint. She then stated I would need to come in person. I’ve never had a place that couldn’t take an order over the phone but sure. The entire point of calling is that I didn’t want to have to drive up there to order just to have to drive back again a few hours later. I asked how long it would take and she stated it would take 2 days to make and freeze. Weird considering when I inquired a few weeks ago they stated only a couple of hours. Mind you this was a weekday in the afternoon. Also anyone with common sense knows it doesn’t take 2 days to freeze ice cream. Blatantly lying to customers is not a great start.
So, I go in person the next day around 5 PM after I get off work. They’re not busy. No one’s in line. There’s one small family eating at a table. The girl who took my order is the rudest employee I’ve ever encountered. I asked for the allergen menu so I could try some new toppings. I was confused about one of the listings so I asked a question and she responds “I don’t know, it’s listed there.” She also kept trying to insist I could pick it up the next day due to needing to freeze it. This might be shocking news but most people in this country have a working freezer. Anyways, I ordered and she states I can return in an hour or two. I asked if they were able to call when it’s ready since I was going to go shopping in the area. She states they don’t have a phone. Another blatant lie. So, I pay and leave.
I come back and the girl sees me and slams the bucket she was holding onto a cart and walks to the back without saying a word. About 30 seconds later she comes back out with the two pints and hands them to me without saying a word and walks off. Not providing the basics of customer service and expecting good opportunities in life is an interesting mindset, to say the least. I’m also pretty sure she is the one I talked to on the phone the day before. Also, the ice cream was solid enough to take home so clearly it doesn’t need 48 hours.
I understand working in food service can suck, but being polite is the bare minimum. Being rude to your nice customers is how you ensure all of your encounters become unpleasant. I loathed my time working in food service but I still greeted customers and did the job I signed up for. I’m not sure I’ll be back when I can pay $5 for a pint at any store instead of paying $32 for two pints that come with a side of attitude. Creamistry needs to do better. I’ve been to multiple of their locations and have encountered hostility from their employees but this was by far the worse.
Also, it didn’t even take half a day for the cream to...
Read moreLiving in a time where social media has made everyone think they're culinary experts has gone overboard. As a result, there are a multitude of businesses springing forth of no real substance and delivering less than subpar products. Needless to say, this establishment is one of the many. Overpriced, tasteless, poor quality "visually appealing" cold desert is what you're in store for here. Choose your base (dairy/non dairy) and either create your own or pick from their line up. I chose the mint chocolate in non dairy form. The mint taste was almost non existent, the chocolate chips sprinkled in just a couple spots were low quality and waxy. Whipped topping tastes like foamy sugar water. And there's only a light dusting of cookie crumbs. ONE scoop of ice cream. All for appx $9 bucks (see pic.) It was horrible and my partner didn't like his either (mangos & takis.) Which was spicy unbeknownst to us bc we didn't realize those were takis on the pic. So he switched to the banana/strawberry combo. That was horrible as well. It was thrown away after we left. Tables were extremely dirty, chairs in disarray & floor needed attention. All 5 employees remained behind the counter laughing & talking. I cleaned a spot for us to sit. Bridgette was the best part about this 1st and last visit. $21 bucks for 2 scoops of tasteless ice cream with super minimal cheap toppings is such a slap...
Read morePlease train your employees and create a better allergen menu. We took our two kids to creamistry this past Sunday. I asked the cashier if their ice cream had egg in it. She got the allergen menu out and asked me what flavor we wanted. I told her unicorn and she said that flavor doesn’t have egg. So we have it to our children. My 4 year old (who has an egg allergy), started complaining of an upset stomach by the time we made it back to the car. So in the car I pulled up the allergen menu, and realized that the ice cream DOES have egg. However, I can see how the cashier misread the allergen menu. It’s super confusing! The top shows that the dairy base has egg, but when you look at individual flavors it will say they don’t have egg, so I believe she looked at the individual flavor and didn’t realize that if you get a diary base then it does have egg - no matter what flavor you chose. Once we got home my daughter had hives on her stomach. I’m so thankful that her allergy isn’t life threatening. However, this is extremely dangerous for those with life...
