Absolutely unprofessional, rude, unsanitary, and just a sore sight on such a beautiful beach.
I was wondering why every other breakfast spot had a 30 minute wait except this place. I learned my lesson. 2 of the 3 tables they offered us were so dirty and unkempt, that my 4 year old asked to sit somewhere clean. two other tables were not in use because of 'stuff' on there. It looks like it's managed by people who don't care about perception, and that's a horrible trait. When it's difficult to keep 3 tables clean in a restaurant that's 30% full, i can only dare to imagine what their kitchen looks like. There's got to be multiple health code violations.
At some point, the management forgot that this is a business, that people come for service and good food in exchange for a value that is typically greater than that what it would take to make at home.
When a business feels entitled to your business, they've failed.
this business is a failure.
so many talented entrepreneurs are stymied by these places, and it's a shame that such a great spot is ruined by Katies. Selling it to folks who care is the only solution.
My experience at Pocahontas Pancakes was night and day compared to this garbage. It was significantly busier, and the hospitality and service was amazing. the food was fantastic too.
don't waste your time here, you're literally better off waiting for Pocahontas Pancakes, or even walking to dunkin. If you get to Pocahontas before 830am, there's...
Read moreI can honestly say having breakfast at Katie's 33rd Street Cafe was the first relaxing meal I've had with my husband and our 3 young kids at a restaurant ever!!!
Our waitress had to be a grandma herself because she immediately brought out a plate with cut up fruit for our 18 month old to snack on. She knew that would be the first kid to melt down and not understand waiting lol! At that point hubby looked at me and said I'm doubling her tip!
Then she brought out the kid's meals first which was great because we could get them setup with syrup and cutting things up and not worry about our food sitting there getting cold. By the time that was done and we were enjoying our Bloody Mary and Mimosa our delicious food came out and everyone was eating in peace!
Plus when she saw the kids were finishing up she brought out damp napkins to wipe their sticky fingers, seriously she was like an angel sent from Heaven! She even reminded me to grab the baby's cup from the table which we all know I would have totally left otherwise haha!
It was the best service we've ever had and it made it such an enjoyable meal! I would recommend this place in a heartbeat and we plan to go back next time we are in Va Beach. Much love from...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I are staying at four sails for 5 nights because we’ve been regulars here and love the place. We went to Katie’s cafe as we’ve had good experiences before but this time was extremely different. Upon being seated around 1:00pm we were questioned by the waitress who was middle aged with a long black or dark brown pony tail about what was in our Red Bull can (it was Red Bull). My girlfriend then asked for coffee and her response was just “ Well I will have to make a whole new pot.” It was like we were inconveniencing her to do these simple tasks. My girlfriend then asked if we could have some toast come out first in which she replied “no. That’s breakfast and we’re doing lunch” as if bread isn’t available for lunch. She set the menus down and didn’t return for 5 minutes despite it not being busy so we left to find food elsewhere. The food here is good but we will be looking into seeing who’s working before we return. I would not come in if it was the same waitress. Her attitude was terrible and almost judgemental with how she was acting towards...
