Updated 2025 : Went there again thought we would try it out now that it's reopened. Needless to say, we weren't super impressed. Our Steaks were not any better than we could get at another steakhouse, (not over the top) and the rolls they brought to the table were cold and very dry. So the butter didn't even want to melt and the butter was hard as a rock. Pretty sure it came straight from a refrigerator. But, not good. We ordered two caesar salads and they came out about the same time as dinner. They had caesar dressing (on the side) tomatoes and iceberg lettuce. Um, that's NOT how you make a caesar salad. Also our waitress had way too many tables in the front area plus she got a party group and she was still trying to take care of all of her other tables. She did have help and the help was wonderful but it took us thirty minutes to get our check to leave. Actually was feeling sorry for our waitress she was very sweet, but you could tell she was a little stressed. She was rushing around and not getting a lot of other help. She had approximately seven tables to serve AND the party. Needless to say, we probably will not go back. It's just a regular steakhouse, no big deal other than it's an old historic kind of place. Be to read the placemat, kind of coolThe history.
One word "delicious"! The service was ok not really over the top.. Waitertook care of us but,, had to remind him a couple of times our needs. (Water, mixed drinks, no chives, butter)... We ordered some sautéed mushrooms and they brought them as an appetizer... Weird... they were supposed to be for our steaks... looked at the menu again and they were in with the appetizers. So not really his fault. But, the meals were very good...
Read moreI gave it 2 stars only because I liked the flavor of the mashed potatoes. We had a craving for a big juicy steak after our Grand Canyon adventure. Husband ordered the K-4 Ribeye for $65 and expected a hot sizzling thick juicy steak. Instead, he got a lukewarm thin cut ribeye. The whisky peppercorn sauce served with it was cold and gelatinous. Not worth the $65 price. I ordered a 14oz ribeye for $45 and got the same thing, thin cut and cold. The worst part of our experience was the service. Our server was not friendly and basically ignored our table. She never checked on us asking if everything was ok, and never refilled our drinks or offered another cocktail . She came to our table saying, "well would that be it?" We paid and asked for a receipt. She said "the receipt prints over there (pointing across the room), I can walk over and get it if you want me to." Rude and unhappy with her job. When we walked out, we ran into a group of people who just finished eating there. One man in their party asked us if we enjoyed our meal. We said yes and he said "good, because we didn't." And, the food server who brought our food out, dropped a knife from the tray, which landed on my cocktail and splashed it all over the place. He said "sorry" but didn't offer to clean it up, or replace it with another cocktail. We will never go back to Rod's Steak House again, and would not recommend...
Read moreMy criteria is rather high for any Steak House that charges over $20.00 bucks for a Steak. First off, quality aged meat always has a great flavor, although the Steak was tender it was lacking flavor and needed A1 sauce to bring it to life. The green beans I ordered weren't fresh by any means, they were boiled and the bowl was filled with water. My wife's baked potatoe was very good, however, a Steak House should never, ever serve butter packets... Ever! Real butter in a serving cup just like their sour cream would have been acceptable. The good news, the Steaks were cooked perfectly to order & the dinner rolls were great.
The folks next to us ordered the Shrimp which looked amazing. If I end up in Williams again I'll definitely try the Shrimp!
The men's bathroom wreaked of urine and there is exposed copper water lines to the sink, urinal and camode. The service was good and the staff friendly, the dining room was cozy and Country Style.
For the price vs quality factor, I'll just say not good. I can cook a better Steak on my grill at home so why would I spend 60 bucks for sub par quality food? I would not recommend this place to any of my friends, Diners be aware!
