The products are quite expensive compared to the rest of the local stalls. My husband and I tried the salty croissants which aren't that good. The chocolate croissants instead once were delicious. Fresh, warm and soft. Two days in a row I received a croissant completely stale, it was literally hard as a rock... So much so that the filling was completely solidified. I thought it was a one time mistake so I let it be. The following days I went back to the bakery to get another one and let them know that lately I was getting croissants that weren't fresh anymore and even though they were very perplexed by my statement on that day they ended up substituting it. Curious enough they already knew in which area to pick the freshest ones... Problem solved or so I thought. After a couple of days I ordered another croissant and again it was quite not the same they sold at the beginning with the chocolate filling literally coming out for how creamy and fresh they felt. I politely told them that the croissant was hard and dry and one of the girls started flipping out. She was super angry, she threw back the money at me yelling "No! no! no! the croissant is fine!!". I was shocked. I have never been screamed at like that. Totally unnecessary and inappropriate behavior considering that I have been a customer of their bakery almost daily for a month. Absolutely rude and completely disrespectful. Their croissants were good once then they started to sell stale products. The chocolate croissant offerd a beautiful buttery, light and flacky pastry, leading to a deliciously rich dark and oozing chocolate centre. Messy but so worth it! I also tried the granola cookies. Read moreI tried 4 bakeries in Hoi An and this one beats the others both in price and quality of the pastry. Skip the others, go to one of the Song Khiem locations. They have excellent variety, their chocolate-filled croissants have probably too much chocolate in them, and the coconut twists and donuts are not too sweet....
