Overall, the trip was a nice quick getaway for my family. I wanted to leave some information for others as that is one thing I felt was really lacking about Mt Olympus. Note that this information is applicable to a winter time stay. Parking- Parking can be difficult, especially during the day as other people who have purchased day passes to the park are also trying to park in the main lot. The spaces are tight, but overall we always found a spot. Cleanliness - The room was clean and most of the facilities looked to be clean. Room - The beds were hard and squeaked. The walls are PAPER thin. I was not expecting silence by any means, but our neighbors sounded as though they were right in our room. We could hear full-on, normal-tone conversations. The typical rooms don't have dressers so be prepared to keep everything in your suitcase. The microwave and fridge were handy and clean. If you get cold easily, bring your own blanket. Side note, our toilet did not work well (had to jiggle the handle or it would run all day) and fire alarms went off a few times on our first night. No one at the front desk was aware or gave directions on if it was legit or not. There are MULTIPLE buildings that belong to Mt Olympus spread throughout the dells area. If you are not in the main, connected buildings, you will need to drive and park to go to the water parks, indoor arcades, etc. That is not super clear when you are booking, but could be a game changer. I am glad I called and upgraded. Check-in - The front desk/check-in is not at the main building. This can get confusing if you are not using the correct address in your GPS. It is also not ideal if something is wrong with your reservation/wristbands/lost key etc. there are no "front desk" services at any other location outside of the main check-in. We found this out the hard way when they missed swiping the credit card we gave them for expenses and we had to travel back to the main site to fix the issue (even though we had a $ credit to our room to use up). -Also, be sure to ASK for about the skiing/snowboarding/tubing. They do not give you much information at check-in or online and you are really left on your own to figure things out. Thankfully we ran into many people along the way who shared info with us, which we then passed along when we could. Speaking of tubing/skiing....it is NOT part of the resort. It is over at Christmas Mountain Village. You must get passes from the front desk to get use of this included activity. Again, they don't give you details so I will. 1. if you want to tube they only have certain time slots available, and you must show up about 2 hours before said time slot. 1 hour is to wait in line to get a spot (there are only 100 available) when the tickets go on sale. Once you buy your ticket you must wait another hour for the actual time you get to tube. This would not have been a big deal had anyone shared this information during the journey, however, they do not. Just be prepared. The tubing hills were super fun and the employees are helpful. We had a blast once we actually got going. We were also fortunate enough to show up when a line to buy tickets was forming. Someone behind us was there for the 3rd time that day trying to get tickets. Water Park - The water park is fun, and has a lot of options for all ages. It does get busy as they sell day passes for cheap (like 10$ a person). It can be hard to get a tube for the lazy river (tubes are also needed for one of the slides). Often there would be deflated tubes but no one could direct you on who/where they could be filled up. Overall, it was fun! If you have a room, I recommend you wait until 10:15 before going to the pool. The line starts to form around 9:15, and other than getting a table in the upper area, I did not really see a benefit in waiting vs going in after the...

First, you will arrive to the main check-in about a mile away from the main hotel and water park. My advice if youâre visiting during cold days pay the extra $ and stay in the main building/Hotel Rome which is attached to the water park so no need to take the kids out in the cold after being in the water all day.
If youâre wanting staying in the main hotel and reserving online select the option 0-1 min walk from the water park. If you are traveling with others and wanting rooms to be next to each other call them instead and request that as you are reserving your rooms as you will need their reservation numbers to do that. (We did it and we had no issues and our parties arrived to the hotel at different times) Water park - the water temperature is ok not cold not hot⌠I found it to be perfect especially for a 4 year old and 1 year old. Remember to bring their own life vests although they do provide them as well. You can also ask for towels but they will only give you 1 towel per person, so mom canât go and ask for 5 towels. It tends to get full pretty quick so you might not find somewhere to sit if you donât go early. Also, to get to the water park from your room itâs like a maze⌠our room was on the 2nd floor so we went from the 2nd floor to the 1st floor walked through the arcade then went back up then to go back down to go into the water park (pretty ridiculous set up if you ask me, thereâs also elevators but sometimes they were out of order so good luck if you have a stroller). There is a bar and restaurant which they can charge you through your room bracelet. You can also rent a locker for $5 until 8:30p. If you really want a spot you can reserve a âcabanaâ but itâs just lounge chairs with no tv or anything for like $99-$344 or something like that depending on what day you want to reserve it. I was ok with regular chairs lol Rooms - We stood in a room with 2 beds which were supposed to be Queen size which were actually full size. (I didnât have a problem since it was it was My husband and I and our 2 kids so either way it was comfortable for us). First thing I did was check for bed bugs (I found none thank god!). Rooms need to be sanitized and cleaned more. Since I was traveling with an infant I was able to move the beds closer to the wall (I was afraid baby would fall while asleep). Beds werenât attached to the wall or floor and there was a complete mess underneath totally disgusting. Thankfully I saw a broom and dust pan in the hallway which I kept in my room all weekend đŹ. If youâre like me make sure to bring disinfecting wipes and also request new sheets and pillow cases just in case. (I want to make sure it was clean). Overall it was a decent stay no foul odors, mini fridge, microwave, tv, lights, room phone, toilet and shower all working properly and yes there was hot water too! I took an electric skillet and brought some food that I cooked or warmed up in the room which saved us lots of money. I donât like anyone coming into our rooms so I always had the do not disturb sign on the door. Also, try to pack light with any important stuff as there is no safe. We spent some time in the arcade and indoor theme park which they enjoyed itâs about the same price anywhere you go for these types of activities. If you go to the indoor theme park they have some good pepperoni pizza which we had right before we headed back home (3 hour drive) which was really good. I gave it 4 stars - you get what you pay for it was inexpensive and my little ones were happy. I didnât really see any adults working there so for something being ran by teens it was good. I would definitely go again. Best of all there is no construction...
Read moreMount Olympus is cheap and it shows. Worn out dated and barren in all the worst ways.
If I could rate this zero stars I would. terrible experience. we register for a package with indoor water park access and a walk through of the holiday lights.
The water park was dimly lit the water was cold, like cold bath cold, especially in the separate swimming pool. the hot tubs had a ten minute limit on them and lines like they were a featured attraction. The pirate ship that is designed for kids does not allow parents to join their toddlers in exploring the attraction so make sure your kids are comfortable exploring this on their own surrounded by plenty of other bigger kids.
The rooms are so barren and cheap. It might be nice to have bunk beds in the room, but there was no comfortable seating in the room to relax in. There was plenty of space for this but nothing was available. We were even told that we were in their nicest rooms. The floors were all warped and pealing from water damage the "family" room had two wooden dining table chairs at a wall mounted counter for seating/eating. There was a single 32 inch TV right above this counter that you could not connect your phone apps to so kids could not watch a movie or favorite show during down times. There was a single small nook for clothing and bag storage right by the wall but no drawers to put into use. Honestly the barest room I have ever stayed in.
The check in process takes place at a different location than any of the hotel rooms from what I saw, the main property that we stayed at did not have a front desk. My check in process was simple but the package we had included a walk through their holiday lights display. we planned from the get go that this would be a Sunday evening event with the kids. It was not until Sunday night that we found out they don't have anyone walk through the lights on Sundays. No mention of this at any point of the check in process, and their response was "you registered online and that information was on our website." If that is the case fine, but I would have appreciated a word of that during our check in as well.
At one point we saw a bathroom by the arcade that had a broken door, it was split and splintering, hinges were broken and the door had been pushed against the swing so it now swings the wrong way but not fully open. With no front desk to report this to what do I do? I called the "front desk" that was in a different building Over a mile and a half away. When I explained my grievances I was literally yelled at, when I continued to express my dissatisfaction with my stay I was able to speak to a customer service supervisor who offered empty apologies and plenty of frustration as she spoke over me and continued to yell at me.
This is a personal disappointment, but it may be a factor for other families as well. The stairs for the large water slides were very difficult for my visually impaired child to navigate so he only went down one slide one time. the lighting was so poor he could not see the stairs on the way up at all. There was no Braille signage for my son to find our room or the right bathroom in the common areas either.
Over all, if you enjoy paying money to a corporation that is ruining a resort town as the fail to keep their rooms updated, accessible, or comfortable while taking part in amenities that are torn apart unfinished or wearing out, this might...
