Greyhound needs to change management or throw in the towel. Every other bus service pulling into greyhound hubs has nice, new buses that may be a couple years old at the max. I don’t think I’ve seen one greyhound bus on my 23 hour trip that looked newer than a 1995 model. All dull looking, dented up, license plate duct taped to the front, ride like garbage with about 50% or less of the advertised amenities working inside. Nashville hub had one old grouchy dude on a power trip doing everything he could think of to let us all know how miserable he is. He was sure to let us know he’s in charge, which came as a Suprise after seeing the condition the entire building was in, especially the bathrooms. Toilets were so overfilled a small baby could’ve scuba dived in them. At least he took responsibility though, that’s cool. However he didn’t take responsibility for the lack of a posted sign on a broken door. Instead he proceeded to holler at a man that opened the door to come inside because he didn’t see the two yellow crates laying on the ground at the bottom of the broken door. Seems like a sign or some caution tape could prevent a lot of unnecessary stress and yelling for this employee, but maybe one of his unspoken rules are everyone needs to walk with heads down, on the lookout for random yellow plastic things near doors, and then stand there confused because basic protocol for the last 100 years is to somehow announce the problem with words instead of colors and shapes. He could even use crayons to write it. Lastly, don’t dare ask him any questions about anything, unless you’re prepared to have this annoyed old man give you a blank stare with no answer. Talk back to him, and your threatened with losing your bus ticket and being stranded. Greyhound bus stations are not places you can just walk in with your common sense and expect any in return. Jeez. Duct tape pictured for your enjoyment.

I am writing to express my deep concern regarding an incident that occurred during my recent bus trip with Greyhound on the night of December 25th, specifically at 12 a.m. on December 26th. I was traveling from Cincinnati, Ohio, to Nashville, Tennessee, accompanied by my two small grandchildren. During our journey, we made a stop in Louisville, Kentucky, where a male bus driver exited, and a female bus driver took over. Unfortunately, my experience with this new driver was extremely disappointing. Her demeanor was rude and unprofessional, which was unexpected and unsettling for me and my grandchildren. At one point during the trip, the driver made a stop between Louisville and Nashville to use the restroom. However, she locked all passengers inside the bus while she was away. As someone with a health condition and responsible for my grandchildren, this was not only unacceptable but also quite alarming. It is crucial for passengers to have access to facilities, especially during long journeys, and to be treated with respect and consideration. I understand that bus drivers may face challenges during their shifts, but it is essential that all passengers are treated fairly and with dignity. If there were issues with specific individuals on the bus, those passengers should have been addressed individually rather than penalizing everyone on board. I am reaching out to ensure that this matter is taken seriously and that appropriate actions are taken to prevent such incidents in the future. I believe that all passengers deserve a safe and respectful travel experience, and I hope to see improvements in your service. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your prompt response.

This was my first time on a Grayhound bus and in a bus station. What an experience! I thought it was fantastic- a low cost, sustainable way to travel! The station was super crowded on Friday night. The security guard checked everyone's tickets so people couldn't just hang out in the station, which was nice. When we got here, everyone had to exit the bus so it could be cleaned. That was encouraging! The driver was great at her job and so kind and helpful! During the ride, no one else seemed very concerned about their luggage in the storage beneath the bus during stops, when the hatches were left open. I was hyper aware but it was fine. I just watched out the window, per another rider's advice. So many people travel from such great distances and for so long that it ended up being a little bit of a community. I talked to so many interesting people and a few other first-time riders. On the departing journey, the lady at the counter was not very nice and minimally helpful- it was only 6 in the evening. The only bus that went to my destination was overnight. I didn't feel like chatting but was glad for the friendly, short interactions with other passengers. It was completely miserable. It took me a week to recover because I couldn't sleep at all. The seats are comfortable to sit in but not for sleeping. Other people, probably with a much longer journey, didn't seem to have trouble. The bus seemed pretty clean and had power and wifi. I will definitely do this again but maybe only one way and certainly, only during the day! Thanks Grayhound, for such a pleasant experience!

I purchased three tickets for my family to get to me from Huntsville, Alabama to Benton Harbor, MI for March 17. I paid for reserved seats on every leg to keep them together. The bus from Huntsville to Nashville went pretty much as scheduled. They were supposed to have a 3hr 40min layover in Nashville. Their bus was supposed to leave Nashville at 3:20am and arrive in Chicago at 2:30pm. From there it was 1hr 45min layover in Chicago and the final bus at 4:15pm arriving in Benton Harbor at 7:00pm. The 3:20 Nashville departure time passed and no one said anything until an hour had passed. When my spouse asked for clarification on what was going on, she was told that she was lucky to be getting a ticket, and told she had an attitude. The rescheduled ticket did not have the same reserved seating available and my family, with two young children, were split up. I was emailed a sorry, a new itinerary, and a voucher for the reserved seating that does me ZERO good, as I have no future travel plans. It was scheduled for another two hours from that time, so a 120 minute increase in wait time already so far. As soon as she was issued that ticket, it was immediately updated to be an hour late also, and while it was supposed to be there at 5:40am, it arrived at 9:11am, almost another four hours later. So the 3hr 40min layover ended up being over 10 hours in Nashville. On top of that, the whole time they are there, they are stuck paying things like $4.85 for a single soda. I called Greyhound customer service and explained the situation and asked what I could do, and I got told that there was no faster option than waiting. I asked him if Greyhound was going to do anything to compensate my family for this, he said that my family is lucky that they got rescheduled, and that the compensation is that I won't be charged extra for the rescheduling. When asked further he confirmed that the two options were to either be glad they were getting a ride at all, or cancel the rest of the tickets and have my family stranded in Nashville. I thanked him for doing nothing to help me, and hung up. Then, when they finally get on the road and get to Louisville, they make everyone get off the bus and everyone goes inside. A while later they are told to go outside for the bus. Everyone did, but no driver came. Apparently, there wasn't a single driver at the bus station, they all had to be called or something. Almost another hour has gone by. My family was supposed to arrive in Benton Harbor, MI at 7:00pm, but they didn't make it to Chicago until after 10:00pm Michigan time, and I had to drive and pick her up, as her connecting bus that she missed made it to its destination before my family made it to Chicago. I did not get what I bought. Sevices not rendered, and my family gets treated like they are the ones who are the problem on top of it....

The staff working at this Greyhound station are an absolute disgrace. I have travelled through many countries using countless travel hubs and I have never come across staff as disrespectful and as rude as the staff working in this station.

Staff that can provide you with meaningful information hide away in an office, refusing to provide the public with important information during delays and uncertainty. Once the time comes for a departure, the same staff come out from their office and start aggressively gaslighting everyone at the station. I was given degrading instructions on where to stand on multiple occasions, only to be given more obnoxious aggression a minute later when the location I adhered to move to was apparently unsatisfactory, despite the location being their previous direction.

One staff member was an egotistical power trip at all times. Everyone was spoken to as if they were dogs. A security guard aggressively wound up a traveller to the degree that an inch of backtalk resulted in the traveller being restrained/slammed against the wall and taken away by police, who I strongly suspect had been misinformed by security. Ironically, their aggressive hardass manner went away in the presence of the police, until they left.

The same security guard responsible for the above situation then proceeded to walk around flaunting handcuffs in front of the entire crowd, with an immature smile etched across his face.

You do not go to this station if you have any form of anxiety, phobia of close spaces or disability that could result in a breakdown due to aggressive loud staff and uncomfortably close quarters. If you have the option to go elsewhere, you take that, even if it costs you a little more. You will likely have a breakdown/attack if you engage with this station. The extent of aggression was bad enough that dogs inside the station were growling and barking with malicious intent at the loud and offensive yelling from the staff.

I don't enjoy leaving reviews like this one. But the level of service given at this station is completely unacceptable. Greyhound, if you have control of this the staffing situation at this station, I strongly urge you to do a undercover audit during the staffing hours of those working Friday evening on 1st November 2024. This was beyond shocking and a travel nightmare that will be shared to many for years to come.

If you want to reach out to me for more details, you're...

I had a bus ride from State College, Pennsylvania departing at 8:10pm August 1, 2021 to Dallas, Texas arriving 7:55am August 3, 2021 Everything was smooth until I arrived at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania bus stop. In the restroom there wasn’t any toilet paper, there was no soap to wash my hands, and floor looked like it hadn’t been mopped in weeks. Then I arrive at Nashville, Tennessee and that was the worst bus station I’ve ever been to in my life. It was chaotic, extremely dirty, over crowded and none of the employees new what bus was leaving, cancelled, flys everywhere and to top it off the woman in the morning of Tuesday about 6:30am with braids was unnecessarily rude and unprofessional. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! I arrived at 5:30pm and was not told until 7pm my bus would be departing at 10:30pm, then it was cancelled, then we were told the bus would be departing at 12:58am, and of course finally told at 6:58am I’d be departing only to be told at my bus hadn’t arrived but it would be arriving 20-30 minutes later. When we were told to line up the woman in braids instead of saying ā€œmam this is not your bus step to this side please, this is the line for your bus thank you. She rudely says mam step aside and away, and I’m asking her well I have been here 13 hrs, this is going to Dallas that’s where I’m going, And she rudely responds ā€œstep aside and away, get out the way, mam, nextā€ and does movements with her hands and my face, making me feel like I’m trash, like a bum on the street or worse someone with her job. I step aside and then she calls security telling and pointing at me as if I’m being up noxious, disruptive and noncompliant. I felt humiliated and then felt like being noncompliant and putting my hands in her face. I purchased a bus fare ticket to depart 8:20pm August 1, 2021 and to arrive 7:55am on August 3, 2021 It is August 3, 2021 the time is 8am and I am still in Nashville, Tennessee, sitting on the floor, waiting in line for the greyhound bus when I was told at 6:50 that my bus would be arriving in 20-30 mins.

I don’t have a extra money like that to be spending, I have 4 children ages 14, 11, 3, and 1 yr old to get home to. The bus trip delays has inconvenienced my mother and the father of my children, they lost a day of work because they were forced to stay home and watch the kids.

I will never in my life ride greyhound...
