Was traumatized on my wedding day before I even got past the front desk. Was yelled at in the temple by a male front desk worker. we gave the front desk our recommends when we first got there & then after a few minutes of being in the lobby waiting for my parents, we tried walking past the front desk to enter the temple. The way this man handled it all was shocking & hostile. he refused to believe that we had given him our recommends already & insinuated that we were lying. This whole experience left me shaking, terrified & incredibly confused. I was crying because it was so shocking, (& ruined my professional makeup). I had to go into an office to report him & talk to a woman who handles temple incidents as she questioned me on the entire situation. I started what was supposed to be the happiest day of my life in upset & confused tears. Long story short-they somehow lost our temple recommends?? They were no where to be seen again. Had to wait around for over an hour while they tried to contact our branch president to get his okay that we were worthy enough and had had our recommend interviews, ect. Our sealing got pushed back over an hour because of all this mess so that in return pushed everything else back on our wedding day. following our sealing, they then LOST MY HUSBAND in the temple. He was lost for an hour, no one could find him. I was in a tunnel in the basement waiting around for him wondering what was happening. Finally someone found him & we were reunited after making our friends & family wait out in the hot July heat for two hours longer than planned. The Salt Lake temple was a hot mess, completely unorganized & it was all so confusing. I thought Gods house is supposed to be a house of order? And this is all just the tip of the iceberg. not to mention the rituals in the temple that we experienced without informed consent & all the horrifying & disturbing church history we found out years later. We were absolutely lied to. Full stop. It has been the biggest betrayal of my life....
Read moreAmazing all around! My wife and I loved our visit here together! We loved the opportunity to go in and serve while also enjoying the beauties of such an historic building filled with much beauty. You do not have to be a member to come by and see the outside. As for the inside, that is for members who go in to perform services. However, during an open house, the church for a limited time will open it's doors for guided tours and walk throughs. It is a definite must do activity with yourself and your families. Could literally be a once in a lifetime opportunity which I would highly recommend. The tours can be a really fun activity. The grounds are currently under construction but when that is all said and done, that will eventually be announced as to when they plan to perform the open house. Plenty to do all around the temple as well (when the construction is over). Plenty of opportunities to speak with the missionaries to learn more about the history of the building as well as the other historical sites all around. If you are a member or not, this has got to be a must see place at least once in your life. The building in itself is an incredible work of art that anyone from around the world...
