Nice tour, informative. Lucked out and had a clear, sunny day. Laughed when the pilot said several times that she was going to "drive the ship" through the docks. I thought ships captains "piloted" their ships lol
The only downside to the whole experience was the 10-minute "advertisement" of every single thing they sell at their snack bar. It was like a lame, late night infomercial that just went on an on forever. Kind of like an NPR fundraiser, when they just keep talking and talking. Yes, ok, we get it; you have beer, wine and a wide variety of snacks available for purchase....shut up already. There's no need to talk about every single item you have. They also fire up the popcorn machine when customers are boarding to use the smell to make people buy stuff. The whole thing was a little desperate, in my opinion, it just went on and on, and we hadn't even left the dock yet. You know it goes on too long when the guy next to me tells his wife "Maybe if I go buy something he'll shut up." lol
Overall, the tour was fun and interesting, especially on a good-weather day like we had. The light in the woman's bathroom was burned out, and was surprised that they didn't have a spare bulb on board. I guess all the drinks and snacks took up any available storage space.
Several last things; myself and several others were wondering, was why we all had to park in the public parking area outside, when it appears that Argosy had a large empty parking lot right next to the ship. Whilst in line, several of us customers were talking about it. Not a big deal, though, as there was outside parking, but being tourists, I wasn't super comfortable leaving all out suitcases and stuff in the car.
The other thing is, I find it a bit odd they do t have a small shuttle bus to bring everyone back to Lake Union to their cars. We knew about it all in advance, but be sure to add on another $25-$30 for the Uber ride back from downtown.
In the end, I'd totally take another trip with them...
Read moreI had taken the Seattle Locks Cruise in 2014. I enjoyed it, so I was excited about taking it again. I paid for a tour on 9/18/2022. Unfortunately, the instructions informing me of the actual departure point was vague and confusing at best. The instructions included a map with a pin numbered one at the Pier 54 location and a pin numbered two at the Lake Union location. After we traveled from our tour of the Space Needle to Pier 54, we were informed out departure point was Lake Union instead. It was too late to turn around and go back to the departure point. As as consolation I was offered a Harbor Tour. All of the services were good. The exception of clearly identifying the departure location, caused much disappointment. Since there are two possible departure points, please make it clear on the invoice which location is the departure point. The agent at the Argosy Cruise office agreed that the printed information on the invoice was not clear and offered the Harbor Tour as...
Read moreWe had our company Christmas party Monday, December 7th aboard the Celebrations boat. It was wonderful! Everyone was extremely accommodating. Matt, our rep, came up with ideas to fit within our budget - and had immense patience with our endless questions. Nick, the captain, asked where we wanted to go (I assumed there was a strict route, nice surprise) and set up Christmas music to play throughout the evening. Rachel, our on board contact, did EVERYTHING, so I was able to enjoy myself instead of working the entire evening. I felt so guilty, I tried to help, but she insisted with such kindness. Corsica, our bartender, was so sweet - and quick! There was never a line for drinks. The boat was decorated beautifully - and somehow they arranged for the rain to stop ;) I'd love to have our party with...
