1. Food: We ordered pork knuckle and chicken breast with herbs. The food was average. 2. Ambience: below average. No decoration inside, old furniture and most of the part are dusty. 3. Price: Price is reasonable, but if we consider the quality and quantity of food, price is on the higher side. 4. Location: Location is average, right after the tram station. It is easy to get there but it’s chaos outside. So if you prefer tranquil at the time of having food, avoid sitting outside. 5. Service: it was awful and unprofessional. The lady who was serving was terribly rude to us. Right from the beginning, she made us uncomfortable with her disrespectful behaviour. Her behaviour was discriminative, as she was polite with others, especially natives. At the time of taking order, she was extremely impolite. I didn’t understand her accent, so I asked her second time about the side dishes. She raised her voice and did an improper gesture by tapping the menu card multiple times, which was really surprising and heartbreaking for us. The basic attire in this profession is SMILE which was completely missing out from her face. All she had for us was frowning, eye roll andill mannered gestures. At the end, she asked for tips shamelessly and I paid her 10% tips for doing all these nonsense. One advice to that lady is to be more professional and not to be discriminative with foreigners.

Restaurant is really worth your time. Traditional Czech food served with great beer. Nice outside seating area. Only thing to keep in mind is you are on a busy street right by the tram stop so outside can be loud at times. We got the venison sausage which was excellent burst with juice when you crack through the casing and well spiced to be just a bit hotter than the sweet peepers and mustard so that it stands out in any pairing. We also tried a sausage and sauerkraut soup that is now a new favorite soup of mine. Tangy and comforting with just a little heat great anytime of year. Finally the stuffed dumplings were heavy greasy and filling. Maybe not the best dish for the height of summer but I still enjoyed them. The pancetta like stuffing stands up well to the thick potato which has great texture to give a solid bite. This dish will get you through your day. Service was also really nice and fast the restaurant has lots of little comic scenes that liven it up. Totally worth a try.

A few days ago we were in Prague. After a whole day of walking around the city, we went to the hotel to rest a bit, but in the evening we got a little hungry. On Trip Advisor, we searched for the best restaurants and one of the first ones showed a Czechoslovak restaurant with 4.8 reviews, so we headed there. However, when we arrived, the restaurant was completely empty, only a waiter and a waitress, and the two restaurants next to it were full of people. and one of them was U Švejků. It was around 9:50 p.m., and when we entered, the waiter immediately told us that the kitchen was open until 10:00 p.m. and the restaurant until 11:00 p.m., but since the restaurant was full, we could still order food. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was great, so I would definitely recommend this restaurant..

U Svejku is a pub I always look forward to visiting on any trip to Prague that I take.|This pub is so cosy,ok ,it's a tourist pub but that said a very good one at that, the interior is superb, traditional, chunky wooden tables and chairs, great decor and furnishings ,a solid wood serving bar, lots of seating options, all housed in a great looking pub building.|We were here on a Friday early afternoon,we grabbed a table were we ordered a beer each,we chose beers from Pilsner Urquell Brewery ,these were served in excellent condition being iced cold and sparkling and with the distinctive foamy head so characteristic of the way Czech beer is served,we planned out the day ahead while sipping our beers.|My beer was really good,a big fan of this beer ,when served in pristine condition as in this pub it's such a light ,hoppy and unpretentious lager style beer bursting with taste and very easy to drink ,it was just so good being in such a lovely pub enjoying such a delicious beer.|We really enjoyed our beers in here before we moved on and as on every other visit to U Svejku we had a great time.|U Svejku is easy to locate along Ujezd.|A great pub ,well worth checking out if you're...

One word - Horrible. First the staff isn't polite. They were treating us like animals not like humans. Then one waiter took our order, second one brought it, third took the empty plates and a fourth one took the bill. We never knew who was our waiter and couldnt ask for more stuff when needed. Anyways we ordered some ribs and wings and it was disgusting. The ribs had only bones and fat, no meat whatsoever on then and the wings still had some feather on them..... ok i guess this meant they are real but COME ON, they have to clean them before they cook them. And since no waiters were around we couldn't complain. We asked for the bill and it was 613 of local currency and we paid exactly that much. Then the waiter came, and said in a loud demanding voice "SERVICE" pointing at the bill. We shrugged in disagreement, and he again yelled "SERVICE NORMAL 20%" and extended his arm as a homeless begger on the street. I explained that we are not happy with the food nor the service provided and this is why we don't leave tip. He then looked at all of us and yelled "LEAVE" and turned around. By far this is the worst experience i have ever had in my entire life anywhere i been...
