It must have been the worst restaurant experience I’ve ever had. After making our order, we realized the server was drunk, not slightly tipsy, but alcohol breath and slurred words wasted, so that’s when we started to feel really uncomfortable. About 10 minutes later some other customers turned up and I overheard the server tell them their card reader wasn’t working properly so it was going to be cash only. We weren’t given this warning, and since we didn’t have any cash at all, we told the server about our concerns. He said that “maybe it’ll work or there is an atm around the corner”. I pay contactless so I don’t even have a physical card on me, so all I wanted to do was attempt to pay for the drinks and go. The server screamed at me and told me “it’ll be fine” and that he didn’t have time to deal with this. We were starting to feel more and more uneasy so I insisted on paying for the drinks and leaving as our food hadn’t arrived yet. After some more screaming and being afraid that the server might hit me, we finally paid for the drinks which we didn’t even have any desire to finish, and got out of the restaurant. Read moreHaving traveled from France to Prague, I had the pleasure of dining at Restaurace Karlův sklep. The ambiance of this place truly captures the essence of Czech culture. The food was authentic and delicious, reminding me of the rich culinary traditions of Europe. The staff was courteous and made sure we had a comfortable experience. One of the highlights was the central location, making it easy to access after a day of sightseeing. However, it can get quite crowded during peak hours, so I'd recommend making a reservation. Overall, a must-visit spot in Prague!

Read moreNice place with very OK food. I would recommend it more for having a beer than having a dinner as they have a small kitchen, though we had a nice evening there. Portions were large especially for the prices - nothing special but tastes good, and the Hermelin was really great. Card payment was not available even though it was advertised (and we were not warned up front) but the ATM is at the corner (195 CZK commission even if you have free of charge cash withdrawal) so I would rate 3.5 stars which means 4 stars here. Service was exceptionnally fast and friendly, though we were warned that it might...
