We spent wonderful time at Hayat Hotel and Giza. All stuff of the hotel are so amazing and friendly, especially Mohamed, Semir and Ahmed on reception who were exceptional. They were really putting so much effort in taking care of us and making sure we have everything we needed in the hotel and our tour trips around the Giza and Cairo. Muhamed gave as a warm and friendly welcome, surving us fresh friut juices that were a real refreshment and we really needed it after we got scammed on the airport. We fell in love with the view from the roof top of the hotel, which has the best possition and the best view you can get in Giza, with all the Pyramids and Sphinx like on the palm of your hand. As we seen this view and friendly stuff of the hotel we decided to stay longer in Hayat Hotel. So Mohamed extended our stay in the hotel for 3 more days with the same amount we payed over tour operator and got us better room with a view. He also gave us new Egyptian sim card with mobile data. Hotel offered us great tours around Cairo and Alexandria, and we had excellent time seeing all the beautiful ancient places and learned a lot new things about this marvelous and mysterious place of Egyptian culture. With our tour guides, Hala and Ibrahim, and driver Atif, who are all wonderful people and were doing their best to make our stay in Egypt unforgetable, we spent 4 days in sightseeing. The food in hotel is great, very tasty, for a free breakfast you'll get many choices of traditional Egyptian, Mediteranian, continental and vegetarian kitchen, with coffee and tea, and fresh served fruits. It is a real life-time experince to eat your morning breakfast and drink your coffee at the footstep of the Sphinx and pyramids which energy is felt strongly. Sabir and all waiters and weitresses were nice and helpful in their service. We got lunch or dinner for free everyday, since it's in the tour package when you book the trip tour with the hotel. It was a great and lovely expeirence, we enjoyed a lot in Hayat hotel and if we plan trip to Cairo again we would for sure come here again. I highly recommend this hotel...
Read moreI visited Giza with my husband, who is a wheelchair user unable to walk at all. We wanted a room with a view of the Pyramids, plus the hotel had to have an elevator, due to the wheelchair. The Hayat Pyramids View appeared to fit the bill so we booked the room. |I was absolutely delighted to find they were not lying! When we opened our curtains, the Great Pyramid and the Sphinx were directly in front of us with nothing between us - I had thought maybe another building or similar partially obscuring the views. |We then went up to the rooftop restaurant and all I kept saying was 'wow!' The view was amazing, and we could even see and hear the Sound and Light Show from our table.|The room was huge, the bed comfortable and the bathroom more than adequate - the only thing that would have improved it would be a balcony, and I discovered as we were leaving that the hotel has balcony rooms! |My mistake was in not checking the access to the hotel, which proved to have several steps! However, the staff were amazing, especially when my husband was moving around - they all helped to get him into or out of the hotel - they didn't even need to be asked! Unfortunately, following a power cut, we were unable to leave our room as the elevator stopped working. The hotel staff offered to carry my husband down 4 flights of stairs, but we refused their kind offer as this is surely more than could be expected! At least we could sit and look at the Pyramids!|The hotel is great value for money - the breakfast is fairly basic and the menu somewhat limited, but we found something to eat every evening, and the views of the Pyramids had to be the best available anywhere!|The rooftop terrace had a large TV on which the staff would put sports - even English football! Other times music was playing. During the day they were constantly moving large umbrellas around to ensure guests were not sitting in direct sunlight. |All in all, this hotel is a great choice for a Pyramids View, and definitely good...
Read moreAdmittedly, I knew this might be a gamble in quality, but I booked for the view and close proximity to the pyramids. I wanted to view out the window and to see them whenever. Well, I didn't even get that. All the images of the view from 'Deluxe Queen Suite with Pyramids View' show unobstructed sight lines but there has since been a rooftop terrace built right in front of the window (see attached).||They say expectations are the root of resentments, but I don't believe my expectations were excessive when what they show is a straight view to the pyramids. I just want what I paid for and what is advertised.||We did not even get the right room on our first night. 8 months of wishing to wake up to a view of the pyramids and it was mostly a wall (see second pic). They gave us a room one floor lower and only started to apologize when I said this was not the right room. They said the room I booked was unavailable due to some 'mechanical reason'. Why didn't you inform me up front? Got the strong sense they were hoping i wouldn't notice. Felt very much like the overbooked. The room they did give us had stained couches, a leaky toilet, and no view. We got a free meal for the inconvenience instead of rate refund then told we would be moved the next day. When I confirmed, "so overnight in this room and then move us tomorrow?" He replied with, 'Not overnight, just a few hours' -- dude that's overnight. C'mon.||The couches in the room we booked were also stained, so that's where the luggage sat.||In the end we made the best of it, listening to the light show every night was the highlight, taking quick showers to preserve hot water, and could still see some nice sunsets.||In the end, I'm not too mad about it because it makes a funny story, but I want to be sure that people are not booking for the room view. You only get full views from the rooftop terrace. Two stars for being shady and...
