Firstly, you have to understand this is a locally owned hotel, in a very old area. They have done a great job to accommodate to foreigners. That being said, we arrived very late and the staff was incredibly helpful, he gave us a tour of the property, the view is absolutely breathtaking. We got welcome drinks, he took us to our room and gave us a show(opening the curtains to the view of the pyramids) The room was basic, smelled a little musty however, it did the job. We had comfortable beds,. Ac, water. The window opened fully and is tinted to avoid the room getting too hot. The safe isn’t secured, you can walk out with it. But no issues while we were there. There is one elevator for the building but we didn’t have to wait long. The bathroom was probably my least favourite, make sure to turn on the water heater before getting into the shower. Breakfast: it wasn’t mind blowing but we didn’t leave hungry. Egg station, foul (very tasty) fresh breads and spread and fruit. Enjoying breakfast early morning with the view of the pyramids was absolutely outstanding and peaceful. Staff: didn’t push tours onto us, helpful, always greeting us with a smile. Location: right informs of the sphinx, you can walk out of the hotel, and ideally get tickets to enter right in front (long line up early morning). It does smell like horse pee as they roam the area. You can see the light night show from the terrace. They also have shisha till midnight -1am (it was ok) Getting in and out of this area can be difficult for Ubers as the roads are tight, and they close main roads when it’s extremely busy.

HAYAT hotel in giza deserves every praise it can get. The staff tries to help you out and be as friendly as possible so your stay will be as easy and comfortable as it can be. At the price point this hotel is hard to beat. Of course this isn't a high end hotel with every amenity, but it will do for the travelers it's trying to bring in. PROS THE BEST STAFF YOU CAN IMAGINE!!!! Especially Mohammed, one of the guys in the blue shirts will help you out with anything. Location is everything, you can see the three pyramids of Giza right from the rooftop balcony and get to watch the sound and lights show from the rooftop saving you from uying the ticket. Great breakfast. (Super filling and tasty) Free water bottles in your room everyday The public relations officer is on site throughout the week so if there are any issues than you can discuss with him or the front desk. The staff speaks so many languages. I saw them communicating in English, french, Spanish, German, Russian, Arabic etc. The rooms are clean and well taken care of. They sent us a gift fruit plate twice during our stay, honestly was so nice. The cons Wifi has issues on all the floors except for the lobby. Some Vodafone error preventing all the guests from logging in. I spoke with the staff but they didn't know. Hot water will run out since each room has a small water heater but that can be remedied by just taking shorter showers. I would recommend 10/10 though

Overall the hotel is pretty nice, we stayed in one of their basic rooms so then for what we payed there is nothing we are allowed to complain about. The room is full of what you’d need with complementary water, working air conditioning and shower cabin (really a “luxury thing” in Egypt). It could have been more clean or well-kept as many people say in the other reviews but really guys, you are in Egypt, standards are different, complain less and enjoy life more because you are literally in front of the pyramids and the sphinx in the best position ever. The rooftop is awesome with that view, awesome, there are also some umbrellas to keep you not under direct sun (and this is not obvious since there are many rooftops around without no umbrellas at all). Despite the rest of Egypt you’ll feel just a little the Egyptian “tipping mechanism”, meaning you won’t get forced to tip 😂, that is definitely a good thing considering how it works around. The only thing that can be better is the breakfast, not much choice and not that clean, still good enough for a standard room… not at all if you pay for their top end room that is much more expensive. Also being in front of the pyramids and the ticket office means a lot, but really a lot of people offering you taxi, status, and everything else so you’ll be surrounded as soon as you’ll get out of the hotel.

We spent wonderful time at Hayat Hotel and Giza. All stuff of the hotel are so amazing and friendly, especially Mohamed, Semir and Ahmed on reception who were exceptional. They were really putting so much effort in taking care of us and making sure we have everything we needed in the hotel and our tour trips around the Giza and Cairo. Muhamed gave as a warm and friendly welcome, surving us fresh friut juices that were a real refreshment and we really needed it after we got scammed on the airport. We fell in love with the view from the roof top of the hotel, which has the best possition and the best view you can get in Giza, with all the Pyramids and Sphinx like on the palm of your hand. As we seen this view and friendly stuff of the hotel we decided to stay longer in Hayat Hotel. So Mohamed extended our stay in the hotel for 3 more days with the same amount we payed over tour operator and got us better room with a view. He also gave us new Egyptian sim card with mobile data. Hotel offered us great tours around Cairo and Alexandria, and we had excellent time seeing all the beautiful ancient places and learned a lot new things about this marvelous and mysterious place of Egyptian culture. With our tour guides, Hala and Ibrahim, and driver Atif, who are all wonderful people and were doing their best to make our stay in Egypt unforgetable, we spent 4 days in sightseeing. The food in hotel is great, very tasty, for a free breakfast you'll get many choices of traditional Egyptian, Mediteranian, continental and vegetarian kitchen, with coffee and tea, and fresh served fruits. It is a real life-time experince to eat your morning breakfast and drink your coffee at the footstep of the Sphinx and pyramids which energy is felt strongly. Sabir and all waiters and weitresses were nice and helpful in their service. We got lunch or dinner for free everyday, since it's in the tour package when you book the trip tour with the hotel. It was a great and lovely expeirence, we enjoyed a lot in Hayat hotel and if we plan trip to Cairo again we would for sure come here again. I highly recommend this hotel...

I visited Giza with my husband, who is a wheelchair user unable to walk at all. We wanted a room with a view of the Pyramids, plus the hotel had to have an elevator, due to the wheelchair. The Hayat Pyramids View appeared to fit the bill so we booked the room. |I was absolutely delighted to find they were not lying! When we opened our curtains, the Great Pyramid and the Sphinx were directly in front of us with nothing between us - I had thought maybe another building or similar partially obscuring the views. |We then went up to the rooftop restaurant and all I kept saying was 'wow!' The view was amazing, and we could even see and hear the Sound and Light Show from our table.|The room was huge, the bed comfortable and the bathroom more than adequate - the only thing that would have improved it would be a balcony, and I discovered as we were leaving that the hotel has balcony rooms! |My mistake was in not checking the access to the hotel, which proved to have several steps! However, the staff were amazing, especially when my husband was moving around - they all helped to get him into or out of the hotel - they didn't even need to be asked! Unfortunately, following a power cut, we were unable to leave our room as the elevator stopped working. The hotel staff offered to carry my husband down 4 flights of stairs, but we refused their kind offer as this is surely more than could be expected! At least we could sit and look at the Pyramids!|The hotel is great value for money - the breakfast is fairly basic and the menu somewhat limited, but we found something to eat every evening, and the views of the Pyramids had to be the best available anywhere!|The rooftop terrace had a large TV on which the staff would put sports - even English football! Other times music was playing. During the day they were constantly moving large umbrellas around to ensure guests were not sitting in direct sunlight. |All in all, this hotel is a great choice for a Pyramids View, and definitely good...

Admittedly, I knew this might be a gamble in quality, but I booked for the view and close proximity to the pyramids. I wanted to view out the window and to see them whenever. Well, I didn't even get that. All the images of the view from 'Deluxe Queen Suite with Pyramids View' show unobstructed sight lines but there has since been a rooftop terrace built right in front of the window (see attached).||They say expectations are the root of resentments, but I don't believe my expectations were excessive when what they show is a straight view to the pyramids. I just want what I paid for and what is advertised.||We did not even get the right room on our first night. 8 months of wishing to wake up to a view of the pyramids and it was mostly a wall (see second pic). They gave us a room one floor lower and only started to apologize when I said this was not the right room. They said the room I booked was unavailable due to some 'mechanical reason'. Why didn't you inform me up front? Got the strong sense they were hoping i wouldn't notice. Felt very much like the overbooked. The room they did give us had stained couches, a leaky toilet, and no view. We got a free meal for the inconvenience instead of rate refund then told we would be moved the next day. When I confirmed, "so overnight in this room and then move us tomorrow?" He replied with, 'Not overnight, just a few hours' -- dude that's overnight. C'mon.||The couches in the room we booked were also stained, so that's where the luggage sat.||In the end we made the best of it, listening to the light show every night was the highlight, taking quick showers to preserve hot water, and could still see some nice sunsets.||In the end, I'm not too mad about it because it makes a funny story, but I want to be sure that people are not booking for the room view. You only get full views from the rooftop terrace. Two stars for being shady and...
