Please people do not stay in any of the Comfort Inns in Giza! Hard to know how many there are as all falsely advertised. The photos are all merged together on Booking. Com & don’t reflect anything to do with the places. Firstly the driver we booked didn’t turn up at the airport. I Suspect it was cancelled by these people. U had messages on What’s App all the night before when trying to slew from Asma at Comfort Inn threatening to cancel our booking unless we sent a photo of me?? We were taken by taxi ( he was confused as to where because there’s so many) On arrival we were met by Asma, her father and several hangers on. It was called The Comfort and Sphinx Inn. I was shown a horrible room and very hot roof tops with no covers and very shonky stairs. We were then sat in a room downstairs where Asma, her father & lots of male hangers on discussing us, Laughing, calling and abusing our travel agent in Turkey- saying we hadn’t paid! It was then decided by a the above people at the hotel to move us to another hotel?? We had no clue as to where we were being taken was not stated! We felt we couldn’t do anything as in Giza with no contacts. The father stated to me “ we’re taking you to an upmarket hotel free of charge- you’re gonna love it”. The next hotel was equally horrible but with a few nice paintings on the walls and a terrace overlooking the pyramids. This being the ONLY nice feature in the hotel. We were given a pokey room with no window and a double bed! It was also a building site with banging going on all day. The staff were rude at best and just hung around giggling & acting like children all day & night. The breakfast was ok but there is no other cooking going o there! Scam calling it a restaurant and bar - there’s no food , no service & no alcohol. Only sugary drinks to buy. They actually go out & buy takeaway to give you for dinner! Told it will take 45 minutes as is a “ special meal”. It was cold both times & very average. We challenged them on it being takeaway ( as we saw it come in bags) & were laughed at. We asked several times for a room with a window but were ignored. Initially the tv didn’t work but I demanded someone fix it. Only tv channels & only 2 in English. No other facilities in room had to ask for towels, shampoo, water, coffee etc. We left after 2 x days & left our $$’s & went to a proper hotel in Cairo. A disgusting experience which left us disliking Egypt this time. They need to be stopped as this place ( or places) are...
Read moreWhat a nice group of people. We didn't actually stay here. We had booked with them on a 20h transit through Cairo but at the airport we were offered the baron international+transit visa (free) for the same price as the visit visa. So we took it and as they took our passports in return for the transit visa we had to stay at the baron. But we came to visit the pyramids and also to pay comfort Inn but on arrival when we told them that we wouldn't be staying they refused to take payment. Even though the rules were that a last minute cancellation or no show would result in full payment. They also showed us around the area for free as well as free drinks. They explained how they/their village owns the areas round the pyramids and they are trying to lift the condition of their people via the tourist trade. They took us to 2 shops, one selling oils and one selling papyrus art. Both shops are (unlike the inn) have prices set at tourist levels and have a hard sell which was the only negative point about the very nice evening spent with the owners of comfort Inn. They also arranged for a horse and carriage ride (despite it being late in the evening) which the kids enjoyed. Usual rate is 400egp per adult for 1h with kids being free. But we asked for a 10min ride at a significant discount. They also arranged for a take away meal to be delivered to the inn. 80egp for enough food for 2 easily. It tasted very good and would highly recommend. They then arranged for a taxi(Uber) to take us back to our hotel near the airport (110 egp). The inn is a bit difficult to find so I would strongly recommend the $25 transfer service offered by the comfort Inn. Again thank you very much to the owners of the comfort pyramids inn for a good evening. I wish you all the best in your efforts. Maybe next time we will have our...
Read moreI honestly don't recommend it... it's not clean, poor breakfast and always the same thing "an omelette, 4 slices of bread, 3 types of jam or sometimes honey, coffee or tea" one day we bought a special coffee from the hotel and honestly it's not worth it, it took almost an hour to get it ready and I asked twice for cutlery and they didn't bring it, napkins are also something they don't give you. I wanted our room with a view of the pyramids and the window is ridiculously high, you have to climb on the bed to see it (I'll leave photos here for you to see) cleanliness in general at the hotel does not exist, when we arrived in the room there was only one towel bath, I asked reception for another one and it took more than half an hour to bring it… in fact, everything you ask for takes too long. Everything has to be paid at the exact moment (generally in the vast majority of hotels you can pay at the time of checkout but not there). There is a lot of confusion at the reception, such as tour schedules (they gave the driver another time and we had to wait for him to arrive) we had asked a long time in advance via WhatsApp for a guide who spoke Portuguese and on the first day of the tour an English-speaking one arrived (later they managed to make the exchange with another one) luckily for us. On the first night we slept there, we arrived a little after midnight, until check-in, after waiting half an hour for them to bring a towel, so that we could shower and go to sleep, it was after 1:30 in the morning and during the night (3 :30 more or less) They started to clean the room next to us, absurd but that's what happened. There is a lot of noise at night in the hotel and the rooms are not...
