Unfortunately we did not go on a tour with them since our tour was canceled due to bad weather conditions. Therefore this review is only based on their customer service prior to the planned trip. I saw their Instagram page and thought their tours looked amazing. So my boyfriend messaged them first on WhatsApp, then by e-Mail and lastly on Instagram. This is because they didn’t reply to our initial request for days, despite posting pictures and videos on Instagram non-stop, even saying in their posts to contact them to book the next tour. So while we are usually rather patient and chill people, this kind of made us a bit angry. I feel like paying attention to prospective customers should still be more important than having a nice Instagram. Eventually they did reply after all the messages we sent and whenever we did get in touch with them they were very friendly. However the next thing that bothered me a bit was that they suddenly said they needed a minimum of 3 people for the tour, although on their website it says the minimum is 2 people. So not only is it not a good to have contradicting info, we also did not know at first if our tour would go out at all then. Lastly, the payment of the deposit was also a bit difficult for us since their payment options were mostly good for American or Mexican people, not for Europeans. Lastly our tour got cancelled due to the weather conditions which can happen. However, it would have been nice if they had informed us after confirming the trip, that the tour is highly dependent on good weather conditions. Although I do know this in general, we just did not think about it because of the lack of communication and were therefore rather surprised and sad when they canceled just one day before our trip. It is especially frustrating since this tour was the only reason we came to Cabo. So while again, I do not blame them for the bad weather, I think they really have to improve their communication skills overall. I would however still like to go on a tour with them if I ever...
Read moreI cannot say enough great things about Latitude Encounters and their incredible team. I joined their Blue & Mako Shark Expedition on March 16th, and the experience was nothing short of breathtaking.
From the very first day, we were treated to an unforgettable sight—a pod of 20 orcas! The rest of the week was filled with blue sharks and an abundance of marine life, making every moment an adventure. I felt 100% safe in the water thanks to their highly skilled safety divers, who created an environment where I could fully enjoy the experience without any worries.
Fern, Matthias, Katy, Sarah, and our captain, Andres, were absolute fountains of knowledge. Their passion for the ocean and its creatures was contagious, and I learned so much from them throughout the trip.
One of the most profound and emotional moments came on our last day when they helped me honor my mother, who had passed away just a few months prior. They found the perfect spot—surrounded by whales—for me to pay tribute to her. As we shared this deeply personal moment, a baby humpback whale breached, and its mother gently slapped her pectoral fin on the water near our boat. We all sobbed together, overwhelmed by the beauty and significance of it all.
Beyond the adventure and the heartfelt moments, what sets Latitude Encounters apart is their commitment to ethical wildlife interactions. They treat marine life with the utmost respect, carefully observing behavior before allowing us into the water and ensuring the animals were never stressed. While other boats crowded too close to the orca pod, our guides maintained a respectful distance, putting the well-being of the animals first.
This trip was life-changing. I left not only with incredible memories but also with new shark-diving friends. If you’re traveling to Los Cabos and have a passion for sharks, whales, and pelagic species, I highly recommend Latitude Encounters. The world needs more ethical operators like them, and I am so grateful to have been part of such an...
Read moreI recently took part in a pelagic safari organized by Latitude Encounters. Fernanda, Mathias and their team are passionate and knowledgeable ocean lovers who created an amazing experience for us: from swimming with Mako sharks, to seeing many humpback whales and Olive Ridley turtles in Los Cabos, to snorkeling with sea lions and encountering tons of gray whales that came close to the boat in the La Paz area. We learnt ton from Katie (their marine biologist on staff) who has studied makos and blue sharks in this areas for a long time. Fernanda's warmth and personal touch make the experience even more enjoyable, but all the people at Latitude are great and very experienced and lots of fun too. While I was nervous at first about swimming with sharks, the team made all efforts to put us at ease and I felt very safe in the water at all times. I would highly recommend any safari with Latitude Encounters. The best part is that you are going out every day exploring the ocean, you never know what you are going to get. You might be as lucky as we were, and find a super pod of over 200 dolphins just as you are coming back and you thought it was the end of your last day. One thing: this type of trip is for people that know how to swim and snorkel well, since you are not snorkeling on reef but in open ocean. If you love photography, you'll have amazing photo opportunity and the chance to get a few tips from a pro photographer like Juan Camilo, as I did. I would highly recommend...
