Pioneer — Restaurant in Fredericksburg

I've never been called malicious by a bartender, matter fact by anyone, yet here we are, as I try my best to avoid living my life characterized by malice. A girlfriend of mine and I had just came from a prior bar (Lincoln) and had a great time. We found that someone had left their Louis Vuitton purse in a corner there, workers were beyond appreciative, it was a great experience for all. So we then move on to this place and I noticed the price of a glass of wine had increased and I had been there pretty recently. I let the bartender know this And it seems that Charlie Day (his doppelganger from Always Sunny and Philly) took immediate offense to my inquiry and tried giving me a glass for free. I read his demeanor and disposition and could tell tell this was not coming from a good place. I then proceeded to try and pay for it at least 4 times..his ultimate denial 'no because it looks like you won't tip me and you seem malicious.' I am beyond upset as I was respectful, had money, and always tip well. I don't know what was bothering him that day and I hope he's doing ok, he did seem inebriated but I'm not sure for certain. Also sad since I've always enjoyed this place ...

Disheartening to enter a place of business as a woman and be called malicious...

Looking for a place to unwind when you get into town, listen to some music, enjoy a cocktail? This place isn't it! Band sounded great and we would have liked to have stayed but the bartender didn't want to make our requested drinks from their specialty cocktail menu that was on the table. When my husband went up to the bar to place our order, the bartender straight up told my husband "I don't want to but I'll make it. You know that's going to be 40 bucks." Wow! Never have we've experienced such rudeness in our travels. We promptly left and went to Hondos down the street. Great atmosphere with good music, food and drinks. We should have started out here as Hondos has never failed us. Just wanted to try some place we've never been before. Never again will we step foot in this establishment! if I could leave less stars, I would, I was so excited to try this place out as I had heard great things, especially about the espresso martinis, upon entering the bar the bartender said he couldn’t make the martinis, no big deal, then asked for a cucumber martini (which was on the specials menu) and then was told he didn’t have any cucumbers, so ordered different drinks. About 10 min later the bartender (Doug I believe) said that he had made all our drinks and that he set them on the bar for us to go get because he wouldn’t bring them to us, after I watched him serve another table.
