The place is located on top of the mall area. You can NOT ski out directly. You have to walk down 2 flights of stairs and through the mall to get to the slopes. The view for room 202-208 is nice from the out door walkway. The beds were comfortable enough. The paint is chipping off the walls and the bathroom smells a little moldy. The humidifier in the room did not work. There is a $16 a day parking fee to keep your car accross the street. The bar tender was all kinds of rude and refused to give out quarters to play pool. The change machine was broken and no one was in a hurry to remedy that. Being that the rooms are so small, we really relied on the space downstairs to hang out. The front desk staff was aloof. House keeping came each day and cleaned up. There is a Keurig and a mini fridge in the room. Some rooms have fireplaces that dont work. There are vending machine and a laundry facility on site that accepts change and cards. The bar downstairs has pizza. There is a noodle place on the second floor and they are out of this world amazing. They make their own ramenho. There a loading and unloading zone out front. The elevator only goes to the 3rd floor however there are 4 floors. Hot tubs were broken for the first day and it was fixed by the next day. They said we could use the Westin facilities in the mean time. There is a microwave in the lobby. The elevator is very noisy and a bit concerning. Basically it is a motel 6 on the mountain. It is the cheapest hotel on the mountain in every respect. Snowmass in general is amazing. Great slopes and great food everywhere.

DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL!!!!!!!!!! 🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩 I’ve stayed in tons of budget motels and never once ran into anything like this before in my life. This was by far the most disgusting room I have ever seen, and worst check in experience EVER. The man at the front desk was very polite, but for some reason they overbooked the hotel so he had me going back and forth between 2 hotels (in ski boots), finally after about 2 and a half hours they were finally able to “find my room.” I was so excited to get out of ski clothes and relax. Then we enter the room… There were stains all over all of the furniture, including red stains on the bed sheets. There were plastic wrappers all over the floor, hair in the bathroom shower, and furniture literally falling apart. To top it off there was a very bad, very pungent odor making it hard to sit in the room. About 10 minutes after rolling our luggage into the room we decided there was no way we were staying in this disgusting room. The man at desk nicely checked us out and told me to expect a refund soon. Since I booked this room through Expedia I contacted them to check on that process. They spent the last 4 days “chasing down wildwood” (expedias words) as the hotel was unresponsive to expedias many efforts. Today I receive an email saying the property manager was unwilling to refund me my $852.49. I’m not sure why as I didn’t stay in the room, and hope they did not give anyone else an unsanitary room. Im posting this in hopes that I can save at least 1 person from ever stepping foot in this place. It should inspected for sanitary reasons.

I got the worst sleep of my life here. I was in Aspen for an event and thought I would stay in the area to get a good night's sleep before heading back to Denver the next day. Wow - I wish i would have just made the drive back. No air conditioning. No way of opening up a window to get some fresh air in. The bathroom was dated and was located in the back of the hotel room. Florescent lights and weird red and white plastic walls. It felt a little like a horror movie. The decor was from the 1960's, along with all the furniture. Everything just felt dirty and old. The beds were not comfortable. Lumpy and low to the ground. When I finally was drifting to sleep around 2am, then someone next door merely opened their hotel room door...however this act shook the wall where my head was closest to and woke me up. Oh! And you have to go a different hotel next door to check in. There are no people working the front desk at the Wildwood. I was given a number to call for the other front desk and no one picked up. It felt like I was staying in a place that was abandoned except for the shaking of the wall. The only good thing was the water filling station on the first floor. I will never stay here again - so so bad. Please just tear this building down or renovate it. It feels like going back int he past...with all the inconveniences and stains. If I hadn't been reliant on a carpool, I would have just left at 3am when it was clear that I wasn't going to get any real sleep.

Let's be honest. This is a hotel, not a resort and not a very nice or clean one. Beware of the hidden fees they use to get you in the door. Lower cost is fine, I'll put up with the lack of amenities for a bit less of a price point but when you Che k out they charge you the additional resort fee that brings the cost right up to other hotels in the area that don't mislead you.

Let's put it another way, if you went to a restaurant, ordered food and then when paying the bill saw a table setting fee for the plates and silverware you'd probably be pretty annoyed. This is poor business practice and is the icing on the cake for this dump.

I've stayed at 2 star hotels that are much nicer, cleaner, include all the same and more ammenaties while not charging a hidden fee to stay there.

AC... This was one of the main complaints I read before booking here. I get both sides. AC isn't really necessary because it does get cool at night. But the rooms do get hot. A fan doesn't do much. There needs to be air circulation. Opening a window let's more noise in than air. This was the least of my complaints, I only slept in the room.

Quality of the "resort" is poor. The ammenaties are limited which is weird considering being charged an extra fee for ammenaties. I used a bar of soap the first night that was provided by the "resort", left it in the shower where the soap holder is and it was gone when I took a shower the next day as well as no new soaps left behind in the shower or on the sink. Who needs soap anyway right? Thanks for that.

Cleanliness of the room was bad. The rug was filthy and moldy. The floor of the bathtub is grim and the shower walls didn't look like they are cleaned very often. I wore flip-flops to shower. The chairs and bench seats in the room are covered in stains. The bed however appeared clean or at least that's what I'm telling myself before I begin delousing when I get home.

Postive stuff. The pool closed at 10 and when they came to put the pool cover on, they didn't kick everyone out of the hot tub.

Clearly the negatives out way the positive. I would recommend not staying here. Book with the other cheap hotel in town that works out to be the same price and has much...

Due to arrive on Saturday from the UK. Bumped off our flight from Chicago to Aspen so did not arrive until Sunday. Tried to call 3 times to advise the hotel but no answer, sent an e mail to let them know. When we arrived they had obviously given our room away, but the receptionist was very nice and they put us in another room which had definitely not been cleaned. The floors were filthy, the drawers were full of bits of rubbish, some of the towels were dirty, opened the fridge door and there was food on the carpet. Obviously never heard of Covid and cleanliness at the Wildwood. The ventilation grid in the bathroom constantly drips onto the toilet, not pleasant if you are sitting there. No plug for the bath, heating stays on 75 no matter what you set it at, sheets ripped, some sort of under sheet on the bed that isn’t attached so by the morning you are lying on a bunched up lump of material. Very nice engineer sent to fix things but didn’t manage the heating, but did sort the dripping. Lock on the door doesn’t work but we only found out when a man walked in while I was sitting in the bath, we now put the ironing board against the door to stop anyone else, Used the laundry and have never seen anywhere so dirty, you would think you were in a student’s accommodation block, I went to reception for some change, the machine in the laundry was broken. They don’t have change and I was sent to a shop. I mentioned how dirty it was in there and the chap at reception just said he had never been in there. So not his problem I guess. One positive was we had a delightful chap come to collect us from the airport. Oh and the phone to reception doesn’t work, or I assume it doesn’t as they never answer it. Finally if you want to get high for free book a room here and hang out in your bathroom it stinks mornings and evenings of marijuana, and for a non drug user this is pretty disgusting. Unfortunately for us we have another week to endure, thank God we ski all day. Will be interesting to see if management try and resolve anything...

EDIT: in addition to everything I described below, they overcharged me. I stayed with a friend and after repeated requests to split the bill they charged me the full amount and her another half amount. I have tried calling and emailing and no response. This is unacceptable.

I rarely leave reviews but this one needs it. It should be said that the room and common areas were clean, but that was just about the only good thing. Upon arrival I was told my room wasn't ready and to wait in the bar area (no big deal), that they'd come get me when it was ready. More than an hour later still nothing, so I go to the front desk and it turns out the room is ready but the TV doesn't work. They gave us a discount so I didn't care. Once I got the room though there were many issues:

  1. they gave us bunk beds, even though we booked a standard double months in advance. It turns out they over booked and gave all the standards away. I was here for work and staying with a colleague so bunk beds weren't really the best set up, but it was apparently their very last room.

  2. nothing was properly stocked. Not towels, conditioner, etc. When we called down to get more, it took HOURS for them to bring even basic things.

  3. the clothes steamer didn't work. I called down for another, that one was broken, too. I gave up at that point.

  4. lots of unfinished elements. TV wasn't replaced, the lock on the door (the hinge type) was missing a component so it didn't lock.

  5. hot tubs were broken for the majority of the trip. I believe hot tubs are a key amenity for hotels like these (which usually contributes to the price).

  6. upon check out despite clearly asking to split the bill they charged it all to my card. An easy fix but just another indication of the vibe.

They are renovating the hotel but honestly these issues weren't related to that, these were due to mismanagement and poor staffing. I'm not a person who needs a fancy hotel experience, but when you are paying higher prices like these, I believe the basics should be met. They...
