Light Sky is a recently purpose-built home-stay with 3 floors and a rooftop deck. On the ground floor is the foyer/lounge/dining and kitchen, with the owner and her family living in their quarters behind the dining area. The owner, Tran, is a wonderful lady with two young children and a husband who happens to be a policeman, so there is a great deal of security in the knowledge that everyone in the area knows that he lives there. Tran was more than helpful, walking us to the best restaurant nearby 43) to ensure we didn't get lost.The decor is beautiful with stained timber ceiling and kitchen as well as the delightful stained stairs leading up to the guest rooms. The first and second floors each have two guest rooms, one a family room with two double beds and the other a double room. They are as large if not larger than most hotel rooms and are fully equipped with a/c, fan, TV, telephone, and a large bathroom with its own hot water system. The location was ideal for me because it was about 30 metres down a lane lined with the local's homes, which allowed me to experience the true meaning of home-stay. It was about 1km to the river, the happening heart of Hoi An, and although it was hot when I stayed in June, it was not an unbearable walk, but in the evening, the cooler air stirs the Old Town into life and the riverfront is alive with restaurants, bars, music, markets, stalls, boat rides, floating candles, cyclos (bicycle rickshaws) and throngs of happy friendly people. Read moreAbsolutely huge room - so much space and well designed, plus fridge and air conditioning, incredible value for money!||Location was perfect, nice and quiet area but with several shops and restaurants nearby and it very easy to get to the ancient town (5 mins walk).||The whole place was totally spotless - and our room was cleaned every day. ||We asked if we could stay an extra night and the owner agreed, even though it was the Tet holiday and she was planning to close the Guesthouse during that time.||She also helped us arrange bicycle hire, scooter hire and laundry. ||The only small negative was that on arrival after a long journey when we were tired and just wanted to rest, the owner's sister spent a long time insisting we visit the family tailor shop... We were polite and chatted until our room was ready for check in, but it wasn't a great start and of course, we never went to the tailors with her!! Just be prepared for this and make your excuses...
