Do not book a reserved box, the reserved boxes (at least, on our boat) were below the free seating deck, in a dark area with small windows. By comparison, the free seating deck had large open windows with (mostly) unobstructed views.

Additionally, the boat was not what was advertised. It was significantly older than the modern ones shown on the website.

The cruise itself was pleasant though and it wasn’t too expensive. I personally would struggle to recommend this to anyone, I’m sure there are better ways to...

When you commit the mistake of buying a paper ticket, you are told to position yourself at the end of the queue, which unavoidably puts you on one of the seats where you basically see nothing!

What is even more unacceptable is that their advertisements show shiny modern vessels that have absolutely nothing to do with the ancient boats they actually use!

I used to take these boats many times when I lived in Japan and what a disappointment. Online bookings have priority, so with a purchased on the spot ticket you end up loading last after tours etc like an unneeded guest. Barely found 4 separate seats for 2 adults and 2 kids. Many had to stand… The boat that came was red boat where if you sit in the middle view is almost non existent. What a disappointment, Japanese service...
