Alpine Extreme Speed Gokarting — Local services in Helen

Went here while in Helen this past July. Took our party of 10 here for some fun one morning. Would have gotten more use out of my money if I had used it for toilet paper. Much like another review, track was wet and greasy, making it impossible to steer or brake the go karts. Karts were always at full throttle and the only way to control the speed was with what little brakes they had. No steering in the sharpest turns, which were the wettest/slickest, sent my wife and 9 y-o head on into the rails within the first 2 minutes of riding. We quit after that and requested a refund. Owner told us we should just rub the rails around the turns to slow it down. Refused to refund the $150+ we spent. Aside from all the issues with the actual attraction, building is old and dilapidated with a musky mildew smell and minimal air conditioning. Figured I had already wasted time there, so I took some more time informing possible victims coming in the door and parking lot about the conditions and attitude of the owner. If possible I would give this business 0 stars. NEVER GO HERE, WORST GO KART TRACK/BUSINESS/OWNER I HAVE EVER...

We have been vacationing in Helen for the past week... It started raining on the last day so we decided to find something fun to do inside. Our family of 14 decided to stop here to ride "indoor" go carts.... Psshhhttt. They ripped us off by selling us $200 worth of tickets just to find out that the roof over the track leaked so NONE of the go carts drove properly, were spinning out, the kids were scared, and one of our riders didn't even get to ride his full 10 minutes due to the lack of properly working go carts. They refused to do a "rain check", refused to refund any of our money (even a partial or at least the money for our guy who was given a broken go cart and only got to ride for 4 minutes). The owner was extremely rude and even "shooed" me with his hand in my face when I asked why our last guy wasn't getting his full 10 minutes. ?????? Bottom line is that they sold us $200 worth of tickets KNOWING that their roof leaked and the water would make the go carts not steer properly and was extremely rude and absolutely refused to make things right. Just visited the end of March 2022. Our group of nine walked through town and our kids were looking for something for them to do and saw a sign in town for this place. We walked to it from city center which was about a 10min walk. We went there for the go-carts for just the kids. After watching them, our whole group decided to join in after the first race. We had soo much fun with our kids doing this! FYI, the black adult cart is the fastest! After the go-cart races we played the assortment of arcade games they had. This place is much bigger then we thought when walking in. Lazer tag, bounce area, haunted house, and more is coming. I think they are going to add a bowling alley. They are a small family owned business. They seem to work really hard to make sure you have good time. My kids left there soo elated and talking about that it was the best time ever.
