Very unorganized. The people downstairs said go upstairs, the people upstairs said go downstairs. After a girl showed us where we would be (we had made reservations a few days earlier), she went off to deal with another group the entire time. We were left coming up with our own games to fill the 2 hour time slot. Luckily a couple of us had been to Ragnarok Axe Throwing up north so we knew a few games to play. Two of the three toilets in the womenâs restroom were clogged and not functioning and there were no paper towels...during a pandemic. There was a large group of about 15 people next to us and none of them had masks on and none of the staff asked them to wear one. The bathrooms are in the very back of the facility and you have to literally walk through people throwing axes to get to it. Most of the listed beverages at the bar werenât available (they had one Diet Coke and bottled water). We had two children under 12 and the website says they pay a discounted rate but after we played they said there was no discount for children and that they were to pay the full adult price. If you want to try your hand at axe throwing, definitely check out Ragnarok in northern Indianapolis. Itâs 100 times better. Much more organized and the coaches are so much better and more...
Read moreI've been here twice now, both times to celebrate my birthday. I love going to this place specifically because it is a local business that takes the time to get to know your name for the duration of the time you're there and makes sure to help you if you are having trouble hitting the target or getting the axe to stick. After I signed the waiver, the worker was able to call me by name if he needed my attention, and I have one of those names that people have a hard time saying/spelling correctly. When I was having trouble figuring out why my axe wasn't sticking to the target (I was hitting it directly in the center, but it would either hit the handle or not stick in the target, and I was getting a little frustrated not knowing what I was doing wrong) he came over to where I was and helped me improve my form, even getting me a new axe to see if the frayed taping on the handle was part of the reason. He taped up the axe and showed me how to better grip the handle as a left-handed person, which helped me immensely and I was able to hit the bulls-eye a lot more with an axe stuck in the target to prove it. Absolutely love this place, I have plans to come back for any celebration I have an excuse to go...
Read moreSet up an event for a bachelor party and it was fantastic. Throwing axes was even more fun and satisfying than I expected, but the thing that made the night AMAZING was the staff! Grant was our staff member for the event and was the only staff member still around for the night. He was a fantastic instructor allowing us to quickly understand different throws and how to adjust our forms to quickly begin sinking axes into targets. All of our party was quickly able to get to a point where they were sinking their axes into targets (even if accuracy came a bit later in the night). Not only did he teach well, but he was patient and kind and quickly was able to make himself a member of the group. As the only staff member that night he also did a fantastic job of making sure that when he had to go deal with walk-ins it did not interfere with our events and we were able to continue doing things and having fun while he quickly and efficiently dealt with the new groups. Grant gave me one of the best customer service experiences I have ever had and I highly encourage anyone to go and book an experience with Bad Axe...
