I had a terrible experience at Claire’s. I went with my mom and little sister to get her ears pierced for the first time. I was recording the moment to capture it, and out of nowhere, the older Black woman working there started yelling at us. She was extremely rude and racist especially toward my mom, just because she wears a headscarf. She screamed at us in front of everyone, making a huge scene and scaring my little sister. She even said, “This is my store, I’m the owner, and I can do whatever I want,” as if that gave her the right to treat customers however she pleases. It was unprofessional, aggressive, and completely unacceptable. Claire’s needs to seriously address this behavior. I always go to this Claire’s outlet cause I really like their Collection of nose rings- just like every other time I went by to pick another couple of them. The girl Gina, who helped me at the time- opened up the nose ring pouch that I liked to see if it was the ring I wanted, we both agreed on what I liked and she went back to the counter to pack it up for me. After paying up and everything I find out the ring wasn’t in the pouch, and she handed me an empty one. She claims it was there when she packed it for me, and it could be true. I truthfully will not give my money to this store and I’m not sure what the woman’s name was but she said she has literally been there forever- she is an older dark skin woman and she claims to be the manager at the time. This happened a little over a year ago where I purchased a single pair of earrings and by the time I walked out of the store I only had one earring. I immediately went back not even 5 minutes after the purchase and asked about it and the older woman at the time basically accused me of stealing.
