First things first, they have an HUGE variety of beers available, like 50+. I mean, the place is in the middle of Oktoberfest-ville, so they should, right? Luckily the staff is friendly and knowledgable and can help you zero-in on the right draft for your tastes. Second, Stein's food is abso-frikkin-lutley amazeballs! We were really surprised at how good the food was. The ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender, the fruits crispy and hot, the coleslaw was fresh and crunchy- itsbright flavor was great against the heavier proteins and starches. But really, the star of their menu is the brisket. I've had a lot of brisket in my day, but this was the best non-bbq brisket I've met. Served as an unsliced, hefty hunk of meat it was so tender it fell apart at the touch of a fork. Though it had the spotlight, the beans were also stellar. Of course, the triangle of deep fried mac'n'cheese the brisket was paired with was similarly amazing. It was crispy outside, creamy inside, and the best version I've ever had. Highly recommended! The one drawback? Slightly confusing order and service setup- all sides to the weird entrance. Never fear, is easy once you've been through it once: - This place is on the main floor. -- Don't go up the stairs, don't go down the stairs. - Walk directly up to the bar to order your drink and food, pay, then they give you a buzzer to let you know when to come pick your food up from the counter, seat yourself.

I wish I could give this place a 1 star review for taking the rotisserie chicken off the menu. I still haven’t gotten over it. It was the best thing ever. The spicy chicken sandwich was delicious and really crispy. The slaw on top helped balance the heavy flavors. The quality of the bun was great. Tasted rich and light, but also held up well to the saucy goodness of the sandwich. Fries are always a hit. I would say the donuts are the best in the county. So so delicious. The flavor variety is broad. And everything is super fresh. German chocolate was my favorite. Secondly with the crème brûlée. The custard in the middle of that one was not too sweet at all. All of the donuts are surprisingly balanced between salty and sweet. My only critique on the donuts is that the glaze on some is very hard and flakes off in large chunks, which is not my preference. If Stein Management sees this, PUT THE ROTISSERIE CHICKEN BACK ON THE GOSH DARN MENU. OR SEND ME THE RECIPE. Taking it off the menu should be considered a felony.

An awful experience. Was there for late lunch, it was not that busy. Kids food chicken strips and fries was good, mac and cheese was not good at all. My burger was yummy, my mom’s salad was different than what we ordered, it was suppose to be caesar salad with chicken a order of roasted yam fries on the side. It came out wrong, roasted yam potatoes in and no chicken, this is after 3 times confirming with the person who was taking our order. Ok we say things happen, then ask where is the yam potato, they brought a order of burned roasted yams!!! My mom took the food back to them that would u eat this yourself, no sorry nothing “we can make u another one”… now the question is would I go back there again? maybe for a drink with a group of adults and if I don’t have a better choice. Beer was good byt was room temperature for a July afternoon in Leavenworth which was is hot. Was the customer service good? NO, Not at all.

(Normally would be closer to 4*) But todays order disappointed BIG TIME (we are locals and normally visit a few times a month). I understand we are dealing with covid and different ways of operating but how they are operating is not only inefficient but also unsafe for patrons.

The problems we noticed today; -tried to order online... No way to purchase or place. Had to call order in... which is ok but not ideal. we place 2 dinners for our anniversary and was told 15-20mins. We were there 20mins from order time. Food was not under any heat lamps and 1 of the dinners when we got home looked like box had been dropped , food all mixed up and stains on inside lid and outside of box... both dinners were COLD. Fries were not fresh, soggy and cold, clearly old fries and not recently cooked. Below subpar then the normal food quality we have had there.

Safety; no signs informing guest to social distance or that that was no indoor seating... Just some tape on tables, some without. I had to tell some people there was no indoor seating. 1 hand sanitizer bottle by front door... nothing by registers where you have to pay and staff were not wiping down card readers between guests... so u have to touch multiple things before you can sanitize. Should have sanitizer at each pay point. the plexi glass hangers they have are pretty high and have big gaps between them so are basically pointless. Would be helpful to guests to know only 1 register is set up to do phone pick up orders. Like a sign on each location... seems pretty easy to do. We had to wait in one line and then found out we had to go to the other and wait in that 1. -staff was not educating or enforcing social distancing in the line or at registers ( girl was stocking drinks with guest 2-3' behind her and she was talking with them... seems like they need to do more training and figure out alot more safety protocols as far as thier companies safe practices for their guests before we will return or any of our friends. -2 positive things... the staff are wearing PPE. The manager I spoke with on the phone (marcus) was super friendly and apologetic and offered to make us new food after the fact but it was not worth us coming back down and dealing with that environment again. We should have ordered yodelin, But was trying to support another local business....

We are locals and this is the 3rd time and last time we will eat here. We took out of town friends to visit Leavenworth on Monday because we liked the food in the past we decided it was a good place for lunch. Boy were we wrong. The food was just par but the following is why we will not be back. The staff was rude and unaccommodating. I got water from their self service water station. The water was warm so I asked for a cup of ice. I was told by a woman behind the bar that they don't have ice. I mentioned the water is warm and she just gave me a scowl and shrugged her shoulders. I sat down and our food arrived. My husband asked the woman who brought our food for a cup of ice and she replied okay and brought the ice. My friend then went and asked for a slice of lemon. She came back to our table and said she was told they don't have lemon. I looked up and noticed a person walking from the bar with lemon in their tea and there was a table next to use with drinks that had lemon. I guess spending close to $100 on food was not enough to entitle us to ice and a slice of lemon. The most aggravating thing was the rap music playing. The language was far from appropriate for a family restaurant with ever other word being cuss words including F bombs. Maybe, you are trying to discourage people from just coming in and getting a cup of water or discourage people with children to eat there. Honestly, this isn't...
