I was worried at first because the company is small and seems family run. However, once you get passed this and realize it's a well run business run by honest people, you appreciate the service much more. Art is a very knowledgeable, experienced massage therapist and his approach to sports massage is refreshing.
I felt completely comfortable and happy with his work. Not only does he do an examination of your full body (as opposed to just the areas you complain about) he talks you through the examination process and the massage process. That, to me, is invaluable. I want to know everything going on with me and why and Art provides this.
He's efficient and above all else, he's sincere. He really just wants to help you and get you feeling 100% again. I didn't realize how much stronger my left arm was than my right arm and how stiff my right arm was.
I came in for work to reduce pain in my left trap/neck area. He worked on my right arm citing an imbalance and inflammation of muscle as my issue. I was skeptical at first because some pain persisted after the massage but bought two ice packs from him per his recommendation (he does have a few items for sale in his office and very reasonable prices). I iced the shoulder region and the pain was gone the next day. My problem was I was lifting too heavy with improper form (classic, young, foolish me).
I now know all this and more about my body. On top of that I know how to lift more responsibly and know little things to feel for that may not be right. Art is the truth and I highly recommend anyone go see him regardless of having pain or not. You may not know about inefficiencies you have going on with your range of motion, muscle density, etc.
I'll certainly be returning for more work,...
Read moreI’ve had chronic right-sided body pain for about six years, stemming from sports injuries. As someone who works in the medical field, I’ve relied on my own knowledge of muscles and their connections to manage the pain through therapy and exercises. While it’s been manageable, the pain has always been in the back of my mind. Recently, my sister, who practices jiu-jitsu, referred me to Art, and I’m so glad she did.
During the initial assessment, Art carefully listened to my concerns, especially regarding my sacrum. To my surprise, he started working on my leg and explained how interconnected muscles can refer pain to other areas. His explanation and approach made perfect sense, and, even more impressively, he relieved my pain! I can’t express how liberated I felt afterward.
Art truly knows what he’s doing. It’s rare to find someone with his level of expertise, and it’s clear he approaches his work with passion. If you’ve been searching all over LA for a skilled body and muscle healer, stop searching Art is worth it! Trust me, just try him out. What do you...
Read moreI am a server that had developed pain/knots in my back that felt most triggered by neck movement. As it turns out, the situation was much more complex-- Art quickly identified that my right shoulder and hip were "raised", that is, not in line with my other side due to muscle tension, saw that I practiced repetition of improper posture as expected of the service industry-- this causing problems in my shins, hips, and foot arch, and identified poor sleep habits (I'm a side sleeper that likes soft pillows-- a horrible combo for posture and back health). Art lined me back up! Every session I was shocked by the level of relief I felt-- realizing that I was living in constant discomfort, becoming more aware of my habits and how to use preventative, antinflamitory care for muscular health (i.e. hot and cold treatment) has improved my quality of life substantially. Art is extremely qualified and his rates are more than reasonable for the medical care...
