This past June I had a destination wedding in Maui, and booked Love and Beauty Maui to do wedding day hair and makeup for myself, my five bridesmaids, and my mom and my MIL. Even though I had a great phone conversation with Nikki, I felt super nervous going into it because I was unable to do a trial and have had bad experiences getting my hair and makeup done. However, as soon as Nikki and her team arrived on the day, organized, on time, and professional, I immediately felt at ease, and that we were in good hands. And that we were! The entire group’s experience getting their glam done was overwhelmingly positive, and everyone’s end results were absolutely stunning. I didn’t put any restrictions on what the bridesmaids (or our moms) could wear for hair and makeup, so each girl came in with different inspiration for different looks that they wanted, and each girl walked away feeling like their looks met or exceeded their expectations. In particular, my mom and mother in law’s makeup absolutely blew me away. They’re not women that typically wear a lot of makeup, and it was so special seeing them all done up, with fake eyelashes, looking the most glamorous and radiant I’ve ever seen them look. And as for myself, the bride, I can honestly say Nikki and her team made me feel the most beautiful I’ve ever felt. It wasn’t the type of makeup transformation that make me look like a totally different person, or that I was wearing loads and loads of heavy makeup that I wouldn’t typically wear, which I appreciated. Instead, I looked and felt like my natural self, but like, the most highly elevated version of natural myself that I could possibly imagine. I felt like an actual angel. I would also like to note that I cried heavily at several points throughout the ceremony and reception, and the makeup stayed perfectly without budging throughout the entire night. For my hair, I took Nikki’s advice and got in extensions to wear, so that my hair would hold a curl and have more volume. It turned out perfect. In preparation, I sent her a bunch of different inspo pics and did an amazing job of marrying them and choosing different elements from each picture to create the perfect style for my hair. I could not have been any happier with the results. And lastly, Nikki and her team were just awesome to hang with on the day. Who you surround yourself with on your wedding day can have such a big impact on your mental state, and all four of the artists were cool, sweet, and chill, which totally put me at ease. I really appreciated the fact that they were able to keep us all on schedule without being pushy or making the situation stressful. We did have one point in time that we realized we were a bit behind in schedule, due to my mom being late as a result of a family emergency. The team handled the situation like absolute pros, and made up for lost time by working on my hair and makeup simultaneously. We finished with plenty of time, and their response to the situation made it so an a difficult situation that my family was dealing didn’t further impact our experience on the day. I had the best hair and makeup day of my life!

I did a hair trail with Nikki to figure out what style I wanted for my wedding and I’m glad I did. But honestly the trail didn’t really reveal how amazing my hair was going to be on my wedding day! Nikki did such a good job on my hair (and bridesmaids) it blew my mind. My hair stayed up and completely perfect the entire night though dancing and everything! I was super worried about how my hair would turn out weeks before my wedding simply being I’m paranoid. I loved my updo so much I screamed with delight when it was done, “Nikki you nailed it!” My hair still looked SO good at the end of the night I decided not to take it down. I woke up the following morning with my hair STILL looking amazing (not kidding) so I kept the styling in all day, for our morning after wedding brunch, AND the adventure photo shoot we did in the late afternoon! Two days of an updo for the price of one!!! Ha!!

Now, let me tell you about the makeup…I am NOT a makeup girl at all. I told Nikki it was really important for me to have a natural look as I didn’t want my almost husband to not recognize me (he doesn’t like when I wear makeup) but I wanted to look good for photos. Nikki did exactly that. I absolutely loved my natural looking makeup. I looked exactly like myself just slightly smoother and eyes popped a bit more it was awesome, way better than I ever imagined!

I had the honor of working with Nikki and Becca for hair and makeup for my elopement in January 2023. Prior to working with these wonderful ladies, I had intentions to work with another vendor until our Planner let us know that the vendor was a bit suspicious, so they recommended Love and Beauty Maui instead and those ladies did NOT disappoint!

We had a sunrise ceremony, so my hair and makeup needed to be done very early in the morning. Both ladies came on time with everything and got straight to work. Nikki took care of my hair while Becca did my makeup. I typically never style my hair and have a specific makeup routine, but they made me feel absolutely beautiful and so much more. Both ladies nailed my hair and makeup with the reference pictures provided. And considering that we didn't have time to do a trial, they nailed it on the first try and I am so beyond grateful for that. It take true skill to get something right on the first try without having ever met me.

And not only that, Nikki and Becca were so fun and genuine! It was like talking to lifelong friends with both of them. We just chatted it up and before I knew it, they were done!

Upon finishing, they gave me the sweetest little goodie bag with a blotting sheet, extra hair pins, and a sample of the lip stick that they used for me. How thoughtful is that?
