Great place to eat nearby Vanderbilt’s campus! #fyp #tacos #vanderbilt #vanderbiltuniversity #nashvillefoodies #nashvillefood #nashvillefoodfinds #nashvilleplacestovisit #nashvilleinfluencer #grubgod

I'm torn with this place because the food is good, but it was hit or miss for some. The tacos are similar to taco Bell sized soft tacos and the crunchy tacos were full, but it says they recommend two toppings, but yet charge for all toppings. And I get it's only .25 a topping (sour cream is .40), but you should have two complimentary toppings like lettuce, tomato, or cheese and then charge for the onions, peppers, etc. Otherwise, it's just an expensive taco. The enchilada plate was very cheesy and saucy. Don't get me wrong, that is not a bad thing. But, it was a bit sloppy albeit tasty. I wouldn't get it again though. The beans were tasty though. Bean and cheese taco did it for me. Very tasty! The queso was good and you have a salsa bar with pico and salsa. The staff were friendly as all get out though. Very welcoming and friendly all around. From bringing us salsa to our table, cleaning up trays, taking our orders, holding the door. They have excellent customer service.

San Antonio Taco is certainly unique. You grab an order form when you walk in, fill out what you want (pencils provided) and bring it to the register. You pay there and the food follows pretty quickly on a tray, for you to take to the table of you choosing. This is not fancy by any means and seems like more of a college hangout given it's proximity to The Vanderbilt campus. It does have a level of charm in some way. You can tell it's been around for a while. There is indoor and outdoor seating on the patio. You will be unable to find a table outside that isn't warped. The glow of the neon added to the vibe. The chicken tacos were small but tasty and for the price you could certainly order a few. The chips were good, but not great. Many were busted up into small pieces (probably the bottom of the bag). There were beer options some of which paired well with the menu options. Overall a good spot for quick eats, that taste good and at an affordable price!

I don’t even know where to start, I would give zero stars if I could. This is by far the worst restaurant experience I have ever had.

First when we got there there was no clear indication as to what door you should go in and was just plain confusing.

The floors outside were covered in some kind of liquid, and looks like It had been sitting there for quite some time. It’s a little bit cool outside so there’s no way that the heat made it do that, it had been there for a while.

Once we did get in you take your order on a slip of paper and circle what you want and the amount of it that you want and that was also a little bit confusing if you are a first timer.

Once we got to the counter the lady taking the order was nice enough, then acted as if she was just trying to get through us, as she left before we were even done paying with no receipt given.

While we were waiting to receive our food, I watched time after time the cooks throw orders up on the counter letting them slide nearly falling off into the floor. I watched the shorter cook who was wearing a pair of over the ear headphones literally throw one girls food in the floor and when she asked for it to be remade the cook told her no that she would have to re-pay for another one if she wanted a new one. That has to be against some kind of health code standard. They claim that they have phenomenal health code reviews, but I just cannot possibly see how that is true as the entire establishment was utterly filthy. This was by far the most disgusting restaurant I have ever stepped foot in.

When we finally got our food, we did not even get it all. My husband had to go back up to the counter and yell at the cooks several times in order to get their attention. They looked at him like he was stupid and threw the rice at us, still not giving us the rest of the food we paid for. We finally gave up and just went outside to eat.

There is no possible way that the food is fresh let alone hand made like they claim. The rice we received tasted and looked exactly like uncle Ben’s that you would buy from Walmart in a pouch. my food was so cold it literally felt like it had been taken directly out of the refrigerator and not been heated back up at all. The cheese was just shredded cheese that had not been melted whatsoever the guacamole tasted exactly like the guacamole that you also get from Walmart deli. The food had absolutely no seasoning, it tasted like nothing. The enchilada I received had been cooked and sitting in the cardboard tray that it was in so long I had to pry it off in order to eat it if you can call it eating.

We eventually gave up and just left, and on our way we stopped and got Taco Bell which was 1000 times better than what we received here. They claim that this is authentic San Antonio Tex-Mex, But it tasted more like...

TERRIBLE, RUDE experience. PLS EAT ANYWHERE ELSE.

The staff was rude from start to finish. We’re not from around this area and the first visit was a negative experience. The menu isn’t descriptive and there’s only hard and soft taco shells listed. The cashier was rude about the “corn vs flour” tortilla question we had. We’re used to corn tortillas and it’s Tex-Mex so sometimes it’s flour tortillas served. They mentioned we put that under specifications but acted like we were idiots for that. The line cook blew up over a misunderstanding regarding chip and queso and told us to “put those glasses on” and we wear glasses. After mentioning it was perceived as a slighted remark, he stormed off saying he never said that. His boss (he was acting like he was in charge) motioned for tell him to step away to cool off. He did nothing about this behavior and when I looked at him he just shook his head at me. The cook was still audibly yelling and being angry. The staff were yelling it wasn’t even about us. But were obviously delighted in this altercation. After all that, the specification I listed for corn tortillas they still served me flour! Told me to “sit” while they remade it and when I mentioned I was comfortable standing a staff member rolled their eyes and huffed “yeah ok”. They were heckling over every thing being said. Rolling their eyes over every thing. There was a gentleman who was bussing the tables that was the only courteous one there. I understand people make mistakes both from our end and theirs but they were incredibly impatient and seemed to delight in being unfriendly. There are DOZEN of these comments and the supervisor has done nothing about it. This place is only busy because of the proximity to the hospital. They capitalize on first experiences and if they had frequent returning customers I’d be shocked. Incredibly disappointing place.

Save your money. The corn tortillas were cold, dry sandpaper. Everything was cold. The steak was okay. The fish tacos were like burned fish sticks from the frozen section. I’ve had a better meal from Taco Bell. This place is an L. This place tolerates and enjoys a toxic work environment. Not worth it!!! I’d suggest eating at the...

Just had the most frustrating experience attempting to talk to someone regarding a catering order. I'm hosting an event for 75-100 people and was very much looking forward to serving SATCO tacos, a local fave! I first called the catering number on the website only to find the number has been disconnected. I just called the store to hopefully get an updated number or speak with someone in charge of catering. I called during the hours listed on the website as the only times available to discuss catering. I was first put on hold for several minutes. I attempted to call back and was forwarded to a voicemail box that was full so I was unable to leave a message. I called a third time and a very angry man answered the phone, explained he was the manager and that he had instructed the woman to put me on hold and that he didn't have time to deal with me. I explained to him that I was simply trying to get the phone number for the catering person and to which he angrily replied that there isn't one and that, again, he didn't have time to deal with me. I asked him to please stop yelling at me in hopes that I could make one more time to clarify what I was requesting. He yelled back that we was not yelling at me. I just hung up as I realized that I was not going to get anywhere with him or be able to confidently trust SATCO with my catering order. Very disappointing and not a fan of being yelled at by an organization that I was simply trying to give my...
