It's a boutique store, with hand picked selections from Goodwill donations at a higher consignment price point. Prices were decent, if you don't consider the moral quandary of supporting this company and the practice of selling donated items at such a mark up. Despite other reviews about the quality, I think this store gravitates towards classic staples from mid-tier brands over the last 10-15 years. Not everything is a score, and still requires some searching through the racks to find the better items. It could be good for those trying to be eco-conscious and/or buy quality items that will stand the test of time at an affordable price point. The ladies working seemed genuinely put out. Appeared more interested in maintaining their curated store's appearance rather than selling anything. And yes, I put everything back the way it was found. But damned if I wasn't watched like a thief while looking throughout the store. Rude about trying things on, aggressive about the return policy. I'm sure these behaviors come from past experiences with difficult customers. But I'm not them, and the shopping experience was sour only because of the negative attitude and judgmental air of the employees. Might come here again, but I don't plan on engaging with the staff more than...
Read moreSnooty Lady alright, that's for sure. She was very affended and was laughing about it with another customer. Only negative reasons why one would be, along with immature business ethics. Over priced high-end clothing. Hand selected by one who only knows just the name, but lack the knowledge of fashion itself of what people are drawn to wear by demand and In style. Ladies in their 40s and under forget it. And just cuz it's a high end thred does not mean it should swing on a rack. And total insult for those 50s and up cuz they dress way better than the selection filled in this store. Most of what I've seen in the industry. Portland Hawthorn Goodwill Boutique welcomes 20s and All Up will blow your Paradas off. By the way we are also business owners and designers ourselves. When people criticize, it can have a fruitful, enriching and constructive effect on the recipient, because new ideas and viewpoints may be generated in trying to...
Read moreWith a lack of thrift stores in our area and good ones over 30 minutes away, we we're thrilled to imagine a goodwill for Newport. We just don't get to Lincoln city very often. Our community donates tons of items to Goodwill, so a drop off center was long overdue. It's a huge improvement to the grumpy man with weird hours who always said he had no room in the truck when we would actually catch him. This is a working fishing community that isn't looking for $200 jeans. We went into the Botique once and will never go again. The items we saw we're overpriced for the brands they were. I'll stay with eBay. I can even get some of those brands new for better. You've taken away the thrill of the treasure hunt and affordability. If you are picking out "cream of the crop" items then that makes me wonder about regular Goodwill's. Maybe it's not worth going there either if supposedly everything good has already been picked out...
