We had an interesting tequila tasting at this store. I'll start by saying the store and most personnel were great. Lots of selection, very cool blends, all in all a very nice store. Where it got interesting is with the young guy taking our group of 5 through the different tequilas and mezcal options and tasting. I'll start by saying if there is a medical or psychological reason for this young man's demeanor, I apologize for these comments. At first glance, there's no obvious indication and if it is the case, the store should not have put him in a presentation/sales role to begin with. If there are no medical/psychological reasons, he should not have been presenting either. Throughout the presentation, I kept thinking "we're being punked, where's the camera?". He had zero personality, could not put 2 words together, knew very little about the products we were tasting, would read random points on a sheet and then would pause for what seemed a full minute before coming back to us. When asked a question, really didn't know any of the answers and would make up some very vague answer that we preferred to ignore than ask for clarification. Bottom line, he was either very hung over, still drunk or very high. It was a frustrating experience in a beautiful store with cool products. I get you can get different levels of engagement from presenters in these types of scenarios but this was ludicrous. I could go on but the point has been made. Great store and will go back but the experience was just so weird, I had to...
Read moreI enjoyed this little store on my weekend getaway to Sedona. The manager David pepper was the person who helped me during my visit. I knew I wanted to pick up a whiskey but I wasn't sure which one I wanted. So through sampling I chose a bottle of MB Roland; a single barrel Kentucky Straight Burbon Whiskey. I chose to go with a cask strength which is a 111.8 proof (55.9% alcohol).
After a bunch of different samplings I chose this one because of their complex flavor. There were several other bourbons I enjoyed but this one caught my attention. Only 96 bottles produced and this one set itself apart from the others.
I also picked up a bottle of Ginger look war that I think will be a fabulous addition to my Moscow mules. They had a bunch of different liquours, spices, oils, and vinegars. Pretty much everything they had could be flavored in some sort of fashion.
One thing I noticed about other reviewers is they were giving low ratings based on the cost of the products. One thing you have to remember is these small businesses are subject to high operating costs based on the location they are in. If the cost bothers you shop somewhere else. It's all about the experience; I remember once buying a bottle of Tequila in Vegas for $300 knowing that I could get it elsewhere for a $180. I was in Vegas having fun with my friends so I bought it end of story. I didn't complain or leave negative reviews because buyer beware I...
Read moreTook a trip to Sedona and my gf and I came across this place. We made it late and had about 15 minutes before they closed so we didn’t have too much time. But the girl, Lily, who works there was incredible and let us stay just a little later to have a few more tastings and was so cool about it. The options of tastings is a bit overwhelming but Lily really gave us a first class experience that we’ll never forget. She asked all the right questions and pointed us to all the ones we’d probably like, which we did and purchased. The way she educated us on all of the spirits and flavored liquor was really impressive and we left feeling great with our overall experience. Definitely visit this place if you’re in the area and come early so you can try...
