Heavenly Sports - Cecil's Plaza — Local services in South Lake Tahoe

There aren't a lot of convenient ski rental shops in the Heavenly area. I didn't feel like carting my skis across the country and for the first time i rented in advance using my Epic pass to get the discount. I reserved "demo" skis and paid the additional cost vs. the regular rental equipment. All in, it was $436 for a 5 day rental. I got to the store and it's my feeling the rental person didn't really listen when i told him how i ski. I told him multiple times that i like a short radius turning ski (slalom). He gave me the equivalent of a super G ski. I returned them and he gave me another ski that was almost the same profile. I wish he and his team listened to what i was asking for. Finally, the 3rd pair of skis were great. Overall, it wasn't a great experience. If they listened to me the 1st time, i wouldn't;t have had to go back 2 more times. Also, using the term "demo" was extremely misleading. I basically was given some older skis that were marginally better than what's in the normal rental pool. My family and I had a wonderful experience today in the shop when we came by to purchase skis and boots for our young dtr. It isn’t easy to fit a 5 year old for normal shoes let alone ski boots. The man (I believe his name was Rich) helping us was so kind and patient. I had called in earlier today, and had the pleasure of speaking with Nicole. She was very kind and informative. Answered all my questions about their Junior Trade Program, and let me know the best time to come by for a fitting. Nicole was just as helpful when we came by to shop. All three staff members we interacted with at the store were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. I highly recommend...

Highly recommend getting your ski rentals from Heavenly Resorts - Cecil’s Plaza location. First time back skiing in over a decade and had trouble finding proper fitting boots with the limited selection at one of the other shops on the mountain. They referred me to the Cecil’s location.
