I was looking for a good, not too expensive breakfast on Friday, February 10 2023 and was directed to Andrew’s NYC Diner by the concierge at the hotel. It is at the corner of 7th Avenue and 35th Street in Manhattan. We were lucky in that as we were arriving, a few people were leaving and we were immediately seated. The waitress was pretty typical for a diner, informal, friendly and fast. She came with glasses of water and menus, offering coffee. I ordered hot tea and my friend ordered coffee. The menu had an assortment of eggs, pancakes, French toast, waffles, omelets and sandwiches. In addition, this diner had fresh baked cakes, pies and muffins. Normally I would have ordered an omelet and either pancakes or a waffle but I only ordered a ham and cheese omelet with its sides of hash brown potatoes and toast, as did my friend. In pretty short order, breakfast arrived. Except for the toast being cold, breakfast was very good and more than adequate portions. I am a breakfast person and Andrew’s does a good job. For New York City, it was actually priced reasonably. In fact, the sit down breakfast at Andrew’s was significantly less expensive than a little bacon cheese burger, little fries and milkshake at Five Guys. The waitress was also friendly and quick. I expect that I will be back there for breakfast during future trips to NYC.

Visited Andrew’s 4 times in one week when we visited NYC this week and I think this says it all!!! 3 times we visited was for breakfast and all I can say is WOW. Loads of choice, sweet and savoury! We had both, and it was out of this world. I had the meat lovers omelette which comes with potatoes and I would definitely recommend and the Nutella French bread is to die for!! My husband had the Philly omelette which he said was amazing! He also had blueberry pancakes one morning which he said were phenomenal- I don’t think pancakes in the UK can compare!!! A proper American experience! Very very quick service, they have a fantastic system with plenty of staff members and runs so smoothly. We also visited once for our evening meal- again fantastic!! There’s not many places where you can visit multiple times at different meal times and still get outstanding service. We had a pizza and a panini. Again, fantastic food!!! If you want a feel for an American diner with fantastic food then visit Andrew’s!!!!! The staff are so friendly, and can’t do enough for you! The cheapest place we visited for food all week (sit down service)!

I recently visited Andrews NYC Diner with my group for breakfast. I noted that they advertised chili on the menu outside. However, I was slightly disappointed to find that it wasn't available on the main menu and was not offered in the morning either. House-baked Muffin: I chose the pistachio flavour. To my surprise, the muffin was quite big and filling. Although it was primarily walnut, which makes sense given the high cost of pistachios, the muffin's vibrant green interior was striking. It came with jam and butter, but it was tasty enough on its own that I didn't need either. The service was generally attentive, though we experienced a slight hiccup initially while trying to order the chili. Also, I felt there weren't enough restrooms for its size. Thankfully, a staff member informed me about an additional restroom downstairs, which was a useful tip. Overall, despite a few minor issues, my experience was quite positive. The food, particularly the muffin, offered great value, and the overall atmosphere was welcoming. I would not mind returning to explore more of their full menu the next time I'm in the area.

Came here for breakfast around 9am (with a reservation on OpenTable) and was seated right away. The restaurant was pretty crowded, but there were still a few open tables. This place is called a coffee shop, but it's much much more than that. They offer different types of tea (i got the green tea), smoothies, juices, and an assortment of breakfast items. They have french toast, pancakes, omelettes, and more. I ordered the steak and eggs, and my mom ordered the garden omelette. Both of these dishes came with home fries (YUM) and toast (white or whole wheat). The food was great, but it was the service that brought this place to a whole other level. Our server was incredibly kind and attentive. She was helpful when we were figuring out what to order, and would constantly refill our teas and coffees throughout our meal. When she took away the dish of creams, she noticed I had put some into my tea and left me 2 just in case I wanted more. It's these little things that really impressed me, and I would go back just because of the incredible service.

The lengthy morning wait in this place became a forgotten inconvenience the moment the food arrived. There's something about perfectly cooked bacon and eggs that sets the day off right. But it was the omelet that truly took me back. The Mexican omelet, in particular, was a standout, packed with flavor, the kind of breakfast I hadn't enjoyed in ages. The potatoes, too, were something special. There must be a secret ingredient in the New York air that makes potatoes taste better, and this place had it figured out. It’s rare to find a spot that gets it just right, making those potatoes a memorable part of the meal. It made me want to take up cooking lessons just to replicate that perfect taste. Amidst the bustling morning, our server, who I remember was Asian and I assume Japanese, added a layer of warmth to our experience. It’s wasn't every day I see such diversity in service here, and his professionalism and kindness didn't go unnoticed. Despite the rush, he made us feel welcomed and unhurried.
