Update: Manager reached out, he was understanding and very helpful- appreciated the call getting something sorted.
Be careful if you’re anaphylactic. I made sure that none of the food items I ordered contained any of my allergens, but I still had an allergic reaction and alerted the staff - the waitress simply apologised and didn’t do anything to rectify the situation. Same thing when they asked me at the end for my feedback. Not once did they ask if I was okay and it didn’t feel like they took allergies seriously which is incredibly concerning.
Details on my experience: We went to Miss Mi tonight to celebrate the last night as we really wanted to try the unique cocktails and some of the dishes, when ordering I told the waitress I had a allergy to egg, fish and peanuts which they were accomodating and even checked with the kitchen and bar staff before proceeding the order and they were happy to take the egg out of the ‘Lady Mi’ cocktail. However, when the cocktails arrived, it was delivered by one of the waitresses in the black tops not the one that took our order. She told us both cocktails - the Pandan Escape and Lady Mi had no egg, which I questioned and she proceeded to confirm both had no egg, so I was quite happy and eager to try both, but when I did, I instantly had a reaction ( my chest feels heavy, nausea and lip swelling). When the waitress that took our orders came around I mentioned my reaction and wanted them to double check with the bar which she came back and told me the pandan escape had egg which I told her again, I felt unwell, she just said sorry and walked away which took me by surprise, didn’t ask if I was okay or anything. I only had a sip and my chest was getting heavier and airways tightening the longer I sat there, I felt sick and the nausea was getting worse. It was close to closing time and we had to hurry, so we decided to finish the food, which I couldn’t even enjoy as I was trying to stay composed and not vomit from the cocktail, I didn’t even drink the ‘lady Mi’ as I was worried It’d make my airways even tighter and settled on a soft drink to help with digestion.
When we went to pay, we were asked how everything was, I told the waitress again (same one that took our order and knew I had a reaction) that I felt sick still and that it was because the staff that delivered it said there was no egg that I had that sip. (If she didn’t say anything I wouldn’t even try as i was under the impression only the Lady Mi had the egg white removed) Said this multiple times and all she said was ‘oh I’m sorry’ ‘sorry about that’ and proceeded to hand me the bill.
No compensation or anything.
Im not sure of their policy when it comes to customer satisfaction or responding to people with allergies let alone responding to someone having a allergic reaction, but to say ‘oh I’m sorry’ just didn’t sit right as it can be fatal for some people. She didn’t escalate it, I wasn’t offered to speak to anyone else and it felt like there was no sympathy just - sorry, here’s the bill…
I paid $109 x2 cocktails x1 soft drink x2 dishes, for a dinner I couldn’t even enjoy and was falsely advised the cocktail had no egg despite my efforts to avoid an allergen. I don’t voluntarily pay for pricier food to get sick. Not having a reaction is part of my experience.
I am the one that is sick because of miscommunication on their side and even when I was telling her the issue, she didn’t seem to understand the severity of having an allergic reaction or show any concern and brushed it off. I personally don’t like making a scene so after we paid, we rushed back to the hotel room (staying right above Miss Mi) so I could vomit to get it out and in case my symptoms get worse I could use my epipen in a safe place. I don’t want to imagine what would’ve happened in the restaurant if I drank more than I did.
What’s the point of asking for feedback on how the meal was at the end if you’re not going to listen. Would’ve appreciated being able to talk to someone from the Miss Mi team about it especially after I gave my...

Original review: I’m not typically one to leave negative, public feedback, but following my reservation, the restaurant requested my feedback via Google review. I applaud their commitment to public feedback and improvement.
There are some mixed reviews here, with which I concur. The quality of the dishes coming from the kitchen, and the well designed cocktails cannot be faulted - we thoroughly enjoyed our food and drinks.
The service, however, was severely lacking. I sympathise that it was only their second day of full service, however, given their sister restaurant in Melbourne has a chef’s hat, and for the price of the menu, I expected a much higher standard of service. Some key issues: We asked for recommendations from the signature cocktail list. The waitress confessed she hadn’t tried any of them. We were offered drinks, and requested tap water whilst reviewing the menu. We had to follow up on this ten minutes later. No one ever took the initiative to top up our empty water glasses; we had to ask every time. We ordered the “choose Mi” menu, and the waitress pointed out it was for two people, but could be adjusted for three. Nothing on the menu states this, and if it can be adjusted, I don’t know why it was pointed out at all. None of the dishes were described on arrival. They were just plonked on the table with zero explanation of what they were. Took a long time for the table to be cleared. Neighbouring tables which had been vacant for at least half an hour were not cleared. The restaurant was at maybe 60% capacity and I believe there were dedicated service people for our section, yet we still felt that the staff were simply not present. Dessert arrived before our cutlery. The desserts were not placed properly in front of each person - one was just placed in the middle of the table. When cutlery came, the spoons were placed together in the middle of the table, rather than given to each person. Dehydrated napkins were not hydrated until halfway through the meal. The acoustics are not great. The restaurant looks good, but it doesn’t appear that much attention was focussed on sound management.
Some of my comments above may seem particular or picky. In the context of the price, and the reputation of the sister venue, I was expecting greater things. I’m hesitant to recommend the venue until the staff have had the opportunity for further training. I would have expected them to be describing dishes and have tasted the menu at the very least.
Favourite dish was the lamb ribs. Chicken wings were a ripper, and the fried rice...
Read moreVery bad experience on New year’s dinner, set menu $95pp. The waitress who served us is an Asian lady. When we sit down, I required a paper set menu from her, because my husband and kids never saw the menu. She smiled and said they don’t have menu because this is new year dinner. But I showed her people in another table are reading menu. She smiled and said ok.ok, this is just beginning. Then she gave us the menu and asked us as a main, what we choose fish or duck. I ought to say the menu is very confusing, it doesn’t said the main “chose one of it”. Then I said I want 2 fish 2 duck. She said kids cannot have main. I asked why, is that set menu? Why kids different? She said she thought we would only need 2 set, 4 is a lot. Excuse me! My kids are not baby. If we order 2 set, what they will eat? And the set is not big at all. Everything is single piece. Are you kidding me?this is the second harss. I felt weird but just keep my good manner. After she served entries, she never showed up to our table. Until we finish four entries, all the dirty plates are on the table. However, no one to take away. After 20min, there was another waitress took away them and looked not happy either. My waitress was always leave us alone. Then I waved and asked very politely whether our main is ready. She smiled and said she went to check. And never came back!!!!until the guests from the table beside got the main. But they came a way later than us. They started their entries after we finish ours. We felt so bad. We asked another waitress why we didn’t got any service. And our waitress came and she argued because those people order first. Excuse me?when we order, they didn’t even come to restaurant. She argued she is not their waitress. Come on! Who care! Are we in the same restaurant? You didn’t manage well for us, that’s your problem. I don’t know where exactly the lady from? But she was so mean to us. Fake smile, 0 service and weird attitude. Finally, talk about the food. I am really not fan of miss mi. Maybe because it is set menu. Lamb is oily and got large fat, not grilled enough. Lamb’s seasoning is also not well. Prawn toast is factory food, you can buy from supermarkets. Chicken wing is ok, but the way of eating is embarrassed. But the most disappointing part is the main. Duck is so under cooked. The duck meat is pinky and smelly. If you want to serve median rare cooked dish, you should ask customers whether they like or not. The snapper is Thailand style…..over fried not tender at all….I mean…..a restaurant in a four star hotel could be better. And the dessert is joking too, red bean and sorbet???grandma’s recipe? I dont know why the rating for Miss mi is high. But what my family felt is...
