I stayed at Na Ostrove for two weeks for a workshop in January - it was very clean and comfortable and about 30$ USD / night. There was an option to pay about 10$ more / night and get breakfast every day - but food is so cheap I'd rather just stop by one of the few markets in town and get some yogurt or roll. My room had a mini fridge (perfect for keeping some jam and bread for breakfast or snacks or beverages). As far as I can tell only the large suite probably has some views of the castle from the windows, my small room had a window overlooking the river in the other direction. ||||I enjoyed the sound of the river at night and while a bit cozy - the room had ample dresser space, a small tv (where I saw walker texas ranger in czech). The bathroom was also small but big enough for me, I think two people in this room would get a bit cramped.||||I arrived at a time no one was at the pension, so I had to go to a restaurant to pick up the keys - not too big a deal but slightly confusing. Also, no one really spoke much English, so the first 2 or 3 days when I was trying to get the internet working (yes free wireless internet, fast enough for emails, skype etc) it was pretty challenging. They also only took cash, which is fine for one or two days but was a bit of a hassle as I had to pay for 2 weeks.....I did speak with one woman who helped me with the internet issue and she was very nice in person. ||||I love the location, it couldn't be beat - cute little island by the beautifully lit up castle. I highly recommend going to Cesky Krumlov in the winter - it's beautiful! The size of the room was a little too cozy for more than one person, and other comparably priced pensions offered a bit more space with better from...

Read moreWe stumble on it the day of our arrival (rainy day) . Charming very small cozy inn at the foot of the castle. I was told that the room are small but ours (#2) was large and with a beautiful view of the castle ( including night lighting) and the river.( $95 high season) The location is perfect to visit the city. Add $10 if you need parking nearby. Breakfast, copious but everything cold, is included. ||Small bathroom ( hair dyer, ample amenities) was a bit musty on arrival but once you climb on the toilet to open the window that was fine. TV, small fridge and continuous internet. ||However the mattress is very hard and i had to sleep on the sofa. My companion did not complain. ||Because it is so small, kitchen's smells penetrates through out. It happened to be fish that day , ||In good weather ( not our case) it has 2 small lovely terraces...
