An amazing local place. It was recommended to me by a friend at the hostel and she quite literally said “they barely know english, but the food and beer is cheap, and its delicious.” My goodness was she right. We walked in and it was like we stepped into a bar in the middle of 1990’s Eastern Europe. Beers being brought out, wooden furniture and floors and two authentic Czech servers. They were quite kind and made an effort to talk to us in English, although they didn’t know much. I’d recommend this place to anyone looking for some solid prices on food. The only thing that I would say about the place is that they DON’T take credit card and its MUCH more expensive if you pay with Euro. Go armed with 600-800 Kc just in case, but ultimately you’ll end up paying around 300 Kc for a decent meal...

After a few days of eating and drinking throughout the more touristy areas, we went back here for a less expensive meal, and absolutely confirmed that this place was for sure worth it. The schnitzel here was better than most places, and much larger portion, with excellent beer, and literally half the price of the establishments in the more touristy areas. It’s just far enough off the path to not have many tourists, and it is definitely not fancy - but you can tell it is where the locals go. Glad...
Read moreAn amazing little spot in Prague 1 with real genius loci, the kind of place that oozes character and local flavour. The food’s great, proper local stuff, and the crowd is a mix of all sorts, which adds to the charm (and sometimes the chaos). Prices are super friendly, which explains the 10° Staropramen on tap. Not exactly a masterpiece, more like slightly flavoured water, but hey, it’s dirt cheap. You don’t come here for the beer quality, you come for the vibe. Definitely worth a visit if you're in Prague, but stick to one or two pints. There are much tastier places for beer...
