Smagsløget sandwiches — Restaurant in Copenhagen Municipality

Whilst visiting Copenhagen for a few days we discovered this sandwich bar whilst walking around town. Having found that food in Copenhagen is extremely expensive we opted to share a roast pork sandwich from this establishment. I will say as others have, that these sandwiches are more akin to a loaf of bread in size so be warned and the presented product with its mayo, applesauce and pork crackling was really tasty......and filling. However not all is well in this establishment: The seating area is dirty The glass display counter/fridge that holds the meats etc was atrociously filthy and has not been cleaned for many a day. The male staff member who wraps and cuts the sandwiches then presents them to customers requires retraining in food hygiene procedures. This staff member did not wear any disposable gloves whilst handling food unlike his team mate, he also had a habit of walking around behind the counter binding his time and running his hands through his hair as well as wiping his nose on the lower portion of his shirt........nice! I don't know if this is a franchise or company run outlet but attention to the hygiene standard requires management intervention. It appears the food here is very popular and appreciated, don't lose a good reputation due to slack staff practices. Mark...

We were looking for a quick snack or evening meal and ended up here by chance, as our hotel was just around the corner.

From the outside, the store looks quite inconspicuous, but it always seemed quite busy.

Now I know why! By far the best sandwiches I've ever eaten!

Meat lovers in particular will be happy here! Large selection of Danish ham, homemade crusty pork roast, Spanish and Italian specialties, really good cheese, etc.

But don’t worry, also a wide selection of vegetarian options!

The sandwiches are generously topped by hand and then lightly toasted! Really super tasty, although sometimes hard to eat!

I highly recommend numbers 1 and 4, number 9 if you want less spillage - haha. But the homemade meatballs and the homemade potato salad are also very tasty!

You can either eat on site, although space is relatively limited, or take the food with you.

Service is super friendly and helpful, quite young and very nice team! Very fast and always in a good mood, even when the place is full!

The food was so good that I came back the very next day!

The most incredible sandwich I have ever had and probably will ever have in my entire life!! I ordered the number 1, as recommended by the friendly employee who served me.

I was served quickly as there weren’t too many other people when I was there. The brie and ham together tasted unreal. I could tell by the look and the taste of the ingredients that everything was extremely fresh.

I would definitely recommend and I’m looking forward to visiting Denmark again so I can eat here again.

It was costly. However, one half of the sandwich was more than enough for one meal and I ate the other half for another meal the next day. The employee who served me even told me this would happen - and he was right! Therefore the cost of the sandwich wasn’t too bad and it was definitely worth it for the taste of those incredible flavours.
