Warning Scammers!!!!!

Beware – Dishonest Staff and Suspicious Behavior

My friend and I had a deeply unsettling experience at this restaurant. Out of trust and necessity, my friend handed her phone to a waiter to charge it. We were running low on battery and urgently needed it to order an Uber, as we were unfamiliar with the area and didn’t speak the local language. The waiter immediately tried to seem friendly and even spoke to us in German, which made us feel more at ease.

After giving him the phone, he walked away to charge it. When we later asked for the bill and wanted to leave, he returned with two complimentary drinks. But when we asked for the phone back, he suddenly had no memory of ever receiving it. We made a huge scene, and while it looked like the staff were helping us, it quickly became clear that no one was genuinely trying to recover the phone.

We threatened to call the police, but the staff seemed completely indifferent. Only when my friend broke down in tears and walked out into the crowd—clearly distressed and hyperventilating—did the mood shift. Suddenly, the phone “miraculously” reappeared, and it was all brushed off as a “misunderstanding.”

Despite our repeated requests that no one touch my friend while she was in distress, staff members kept approaching and physically trying to comfort her, which made everything worse. Even after we left, they followed us outside, apologizing insincerely over and over again.

Throughout the ordeal, my friend personally checked every outlet in the restaurant where the phone could have been charging—it wasn’t there. The whole situation felt manipulative and staged, as if it were part of a calculated scam.

Please be cautious. Do not go to this restaurant. Your safety and trust...

I walked in with a few friends after landing from NY as i figured this would be a good start to our vacation since the place has a nice view, upon arrival the waiter setup a table where it was already tight since there was another group already dining. i immediately told him that we would want the one adjacent so that we could stretch out our legs, the waiter threw a fit and said “you need to decide where to sit” and started blowing air and raising his hands up. We didn’t really care much for his attitude and proceeded to sit down. My friend wanted to see the drinks menu and the waiter explicitly told him all the menus i have are on the table and there is nothing else to offer you, again didnt care much for the attitude so my friend asked him what kind of drinks the restaurant served to which the waiter responded we don’t serve drinks, we smiled and said okay. Afterwards my friend took out a cigar and proceeded to light it. After 20 mins of no one taking our order the waiter comes out and says you cannot smoke a cigar outside on the terrace instead of asking what we wanted to order. This morning I had called again to confirm if you could smoke a cigar outside where we were seated and the front of house had responded of course it’s not a problem. Anyway we decided to leave as that was the last straw for us and decided that the restaurant did not deserve our money. Advice to diners and goers, the place has a nice view however nothing in this world is worth getting your dignity trampled, stay away and if i could give them a -5 star review i would have. Advice to the owner: don’t let a two bit employee ruin your business.

For reference the waiter was bald and wore eye glasses. If you do decide to dine there try and steer clear...

We reserved a table 2 weeks before our arrival in Paris for a birthday dinner for four people. We made clear it was a birthday dinner and we would need a special place with a view of the Eiffel Tower. The table was inside and with an unclear view of the Eiffel Tower. We asked to keep the birthday cake in the fridge in order not to get melted and they did it. We got surprised, the service couldn’t speak english, the waiter just answered us in french, even if we don’t speak french. The food was tasty and pretty good. When we asked for the cake a waiter who spoke a little english told us that it wasn’t allowed to eat the cake in the restaurant, not even to celebrate the birthday. Then I went to another waitress and I made clear it was a birthday dinner and this fact could destroy our night. Then the first waiter approached me aggressively and he told why I was asking that to the other waitress. He started to talk loudly in french to the other waitress in front of me and it was clear he was talking sh!t about me. The waitress told me that I had to pay the taxes of the missing desserts in order to cut and eat the birthday cake in the restaurant. We got so angry that we left the table, paying an amount of 175 Euro for 4 persons and we left without finishing the bottle of wine that we had ordered. They just destroyed our birthday night and they didn’t care at all. The service is totally awful and you feel the rudeness in the whole atmosphere. I should have read the reviews before booking a table there, because most people confirm this bad attitude of...

I had read many mixed reviews, but most agreed the prices were typical for the level of restaurant AND THE LOCATION...LOCATION...LOCATION! We made a 10pm reservation...and when asked...answered...wine, dinner and dessert! We ordered a bottle of Riesling...quite good .. for E45. Our server was very nice...and attentive. We also had asked our translator app...how to order the different dishes in French. We also read about some common faux pas ...having been to France before...I know it is VERY appreciated...when an attempt is made to speak French...even a little...I believe it helps...and is rewarded. Either way...we had a wonderful experience and DID add service fee (tip) and he was quick to say it is not required...we gave it anyway...telling him...he had helped make this memory. I will advise...it is easy to order too much food. We ordered 2 starters...the Buratta was superb...and the melon with ham...fabulous...do not ask them to "split" dishes...we ordered 2...then split it ourselves We then each had the onion soup...excellent. The mistake was we also each ordered an entree...the sole meuniere...I took 3 bites...our server was disappointed we were not able to enjoy our food there. He did a wonderful job of packing it to go... But I have yet to see a microwave to reheat. C'est la vie!

I wish I could give this place 0 stars but google will not let me. Upon entry we were ignored for 5 minutes before being seated. I made a prior booking simply so I could get a view of the Eiffel Tower but they refused to locate me on the window seat because apparently it had a booking despite it being vacant the whole time we were sat there(I have posted a pic to prove this). The hostess in silver sparkling dress was extremely rude and non attentive to us. The food was below standard and I honestly cannot understand how they justify charging this much money whilst also calling it fine dining. The fries were stale they took over 30 minutes to give us our drinks. The food came so quick it seemed like they put in the microwave. The food was very low quality, very bland and it was a big let down. If you are in Paris then please do not waste your money on this place! There are other restaurants which offer similar views and a far better concept of fine dining. Visit 6 New York instead which is only a few metres away or get dinner on a river cruise for a cheaper price then Chez. Do not come to this restaurant it is a waste of money.

If you are looking for an restaurant in Paris, France. Look no further! I spent at least three hours at this amazing restaurant. I enjoyed the views and the hustle of Paris from my table. I loved the app that one can utilize to read the menu and you can make a list of the items you wish to order. Also you can calculate your final bill per the app also. The restaurant offered great beer, water, coffee, entree’s and desserts. Honestly I loved every second of my time at Chez Francis. The staff were all very friendly and professional. Chez Francis is the perfect brasserie! You won’t be disappointed. It should be noted I am originally from Dublin, Ireland, lived in the United States for over thirty years and served all over the world with the United States Marines. I definitely know an amazing restaurant from all my life experiences and travels all over the world. I definitely will return to Chez Francis on my next visit to Paris! This restaurant rates five stars and more! As stated in the above you won’t be disappointed! A must visit when in Paris, France!
