Stresa, Paris: The Ultimate italian Trap—Avoid at All Costs Overall Rating: 1/5 (Terrible Value, Horrible Service) If you are looking for an authentic and high-quality Italian meal in Paris, save yourself the frustration and disappointment—do not go to Stresa. This establishment appears to rely solely on its past reputation as a spot for famous people and politicians, because it certainly is not sustained by the quality of its food or its customer service. Service: A Masterclass in Contempt The service was, quite frankly, appalling. Guests are treated with an air of superiority and utter indifference. The staff operates with a shocking lack of respect, giving the distinct impression that they are doing you a favor by allowing you to dine there. You are treated like they are offering you the food for free, despite the exorbitant prices you pay. This level of unprofessionalism is unacceptable. Food and Value: Reheated and Overpriced The core of the issue is the staggering price-to-quality ratio. The food is merely average, yet the prices are extremely high. The culinary experience is far from the standard one expects in a city like Paris. In fact, some of the food tasted suspiciously like it had just been pulled from a microwave. For the premium you are charged, you expect fresh, high-quality, and expertly prepared dishes, not reheated mediocrity. Final Verdict This restaurant is a classic example of style over substance. Its high prices are not a reflection of its current quality, but of a fading celebrity glow. You can find genuinely delicious Italian food in Paris for half the price you pay here, and at those places, you will be warmly welcomed and treated like a prince. Do not waste your money or your...
Read moreWe came to Le Stresa to have a light lunch and have ordered 3 starters to share: pizza, pasta and Parma
Ham. We also had 1 glass of champagne each. We’ve been asked if we want some truffles shaved on top of our pasta which we agreed to have. Of course we knew it would be for some extra charge but we would never have even imagined that a few tiny shavings on top of our pasta (and I do mean just a couple of slices) would cost us extra €165 on top of our actual bill which was already high!!! The hand written bill has stated we had 11 grams of truffles which is strangely enough no one has even weighed! The food was very average and pasta tasted so much like kids version of Mac and Cheese! So overall bill was eye watering €317!!! For 3 starters and 2 glasses of champagne!
They have also taken a plate with unfinished Parma ham (which btw costs over €30 for a couple of slices) away without even asking if we are done with it (which we were not!)
I went to a few Michelin Star restaurants, I ate dishes with truffles before but this bill was truly shocking to us! When I nicely asked how do we actually know that you’ve given us 11 grams of truffles the staff member just shrugged and said that’s what it is. They’ve arrogantly ignored our comments and left us with no real explanation. For that price that we paid for lunch we weren’t even offered something simple like bread, only a packaged grissini was brought! I hope no one else will make the...
Read moreJust finshed dinner at Le Stresa! AWFUL! Why? Arrogant waiter who had little patience with our group We felt rushed to order. Rude attitude. The food was mediocre! They made zero effort. I mean ZERO! We saw the same dish that looked better on another table. The penne pasta was below average. I ordered mixed fruit for dessert. The man next to me had the same but they added icecream on top. Extremely disappointing! Especially after a friend told me she had heard it was such a great restaurant. What a joke! Actually really mad about the lousy experience on every level! It seems like a lively place at lunch. It seems to hold some special place maybe for locals all looking at each other to see who is coming in. We should have gone to Anna’s or Shirvan around the corner where they knock themselves out to serve you and the food...
