Le Bistrot Des Cocottes — Restaurant in Strasbourg

Unfortunately a disappointment, mainly due to the service.

First of all: no COVID certificates were controlled, not of us not anyone we could see while we were there (before us only two other tables were seated) and even when people were willing to show it, it was postponed to "later at the table".

I ordered a signature gin tonic that should have had a slice of orange skin and instead simply had a slice of orange and a leaf of coriander that saw its best days already.

Our red wine was served in the glasses used before for the white wine (so the waitress realized her mistake).

The dishes, starters and main, were tasty and nicely decorated. For the level of dining it was a bit disappointing to see the same sides mixed and used for starters and main (although of course the likelihood to have the same side per person twice was low).

Three dishes were supposed to be served with rice which arrived 10 minutes later.

Last but not least: The toilet is based in the basement but some smell made it to our table (and stayed there as it was even worse in the toilet).

Overall a good concept of kitchen with a disappointment in how it is realized. I hope the critics...

It's so unusual to find somewhere which ticks all the boxes - comfortable and atmospheric, great food and above all, outstanding service. My husband and I were in Strasbourg for our wedding anniversary and we had such a delightful evening here. We were made to feel so welcome and the service was extremely friendly and helpful without being pushy. I absolutely loved the Colombo chicken with rice but all the food was delicious, with generous portions. The wine recommendation from our lovely waitress was perfect. We had a lovely evening and would definitely return in a heartbeat. Make sure you book in advance because (unsurprisingly) it was completely full...

Agréable surprise, bistro-restaurant en plein centre.

Accueil : -Top, nous avons été reçu par une serveuse dès notre arrivée -Nous avions réservé pour un petit groupe de 10 personnes le jour-même

Prix : -Prix assez "cher", variables en fonction du plats/entrées/desserts choisis -Menu du jour existant et qui varie -Tranche entre 15€ plat seul, 20€ plat et entrée/ou dessert et 25€ entrées/plat/dessert pour le Menu du jour

Environnement et Services : -Belle décoration avec des bougies sur la table -Très "cosy" et belle ambiance d'hiver -Les serveurs et serveuses qui nous ont servis ont été agréable, en particulier un, avec un humour très marqué, cela fait plaisir d'avoir ce genre de personnel dans la restauration! Il a même vérifier qui avait terminé les assiettes en demandant pourquoi il restait des restes, et c'était assez comique -Services impeccable, nous n'avons pas attendu longtemps pour être servis, entre 10-15 minutes d'écart entre l'entrée et le plat principal

Plats : -En entrée : Pit'arte flambée au camembert avec des condiments figue et shiso (quelle délice pour les yeux et pour le palais ! C'était vraiment bon avec une touche de sucrée qui revient en bouche avec la figue) -En plat du jour : Porc Wellington, sauce moutarde miso et une purée de pomme de terre (le plat était bien garnie et surtout très bon ! Je n'avais jamais goûté du Porc Wellington mais juste du bœuf et là c'était très bon (chaud, goûteux et fondant) -Le thé aux fruits rouges maison était très bon ! Bien sucré sans être de trop, on sentait que c'était du fait maison.

Je recommande ce restaurant moderne avec une cuisine fusion.

C'était une agréable surprise, les différents éléments de réussite sont là ! Du service de qualité, des plats qui sont très bon ! Et de l'innovation qui est mis en avant. Les prix sont relativement un peu plus élevés mais c'est gage de qualité pour ce restaurant-bistro.
