We visited the KFC in Venice at 21:20, while the store hours showed it was open until 22:00. I started placing my order through the self-service kiosk, as did other customers, but just before completing payment, a staff member camwe pressing buttons on my screen removing the items from my basket without asking and canceled my order and told me to go to the counter instead. The same thing happened to two other people who had already prepared their orders at the kiosk.
Although quite frustrated, I repeated the whole order at the counter. I even asked if we could dine in, and the staff said yes. However, only five minutes after we sat down — before we had even started eating properly — an employee came lifting all the chairs around us placing them on the tables upside down, and asked us to get up so she could clean that area and pack up. We had to leave with our food in hand, even though the restaurant was still accepting orders at the counter.
On top of that, I had planned to buy some ice creams from KFC for my friends after our meal, but of course that never happened because we were forced to leave so abruptly.
I find it unacceptable that customers are told they can sit and eat until closing time, but then are asked to leave 25-30 minutes before closing just so staff can finish earlier. This was pur first time experiencing something like this at a KFC, and it left us with a very...
Read moreExtremely disgusting. Floors wet, tables dirty, trash bags piled in the hallway and overflowing bins. With hygiene this bad, I seriously doubt the food was clean when cooked.
No cola, barely any drinks – the machine only spits out water or flavorless soda. Short-staffed, no announcements when orders are ready, and they even messed up the side.
Staff was rude on top of everything, and they told people they were closing for cleaning a full hour before actual closing time.
And for all that, it’s not cheap. Meals cost 9–12 euros, same as any basic fast food joint or pizzeria, but with none of the quality.
I really don’t understand how this shop is still allowed to keep the brand name or franchise. I’ve visited KFC in more than six different countries across different continents and never saw such a miserable state as this. It’s not even the norm or standard in Venice – not for fast food and not even for the smallest shops.
I’d recommend anyone arriving in Venice to walk an extra five minutes to Strada Nova, and anyone leaving Venice to eat before going to...
Read moreNice station with welcoming facilities. The vaporetto’s terminal immediately out front and its only a short ride via the Grand Canal around to St.Marks Square.
The station has very impressive shops and a cafeteria. The cafeteria has a separate pay area where you pay for your coffee then pick up the order at the Barista. The toilets and seating area are upstairs and if you do wish to use the toilet you need to pay one (€1) euro for the privilege. The toilets are rather clean but I found it surprising that only one of the three sinks were working – I did a report it and the authorities, who seemed to know already. Cafe seating area inconveniently is upstairs where everyone has to lug up their 🧳 luggage - I couldn’t find a lift.
To avoid using the stairs at the front of the station, departing via the far right hand side you’ll find a ramp.
Train departure and arrivals times, & platform number are conveniently displayed on large boards around...
