Very conveniently located in Asakusa. Sushi here is reasonably priced (not cheap, but not too expensive) and menus are available in English. Individual pieces can be ordered as well as a "set menu" that includes a variety of dishes. Both alcoholic and soft drinks are served, including sake, which is available both hot and cold. Counter and table seating gives options for group sizes, and you will be met outside by a staff member who manages access, so just wait in line until shown inside. One thing I observed at busy periods was some tourists struggling to get the attention of the sushi chefs to place their order. Don't be afraid to calmly but forcefully say "Sumimasen" ("Excuse me!"), as this will usually get them to take your order. Menus have photos of each dish, so you can order by politely pointing and saying (or gesturing) how many dishes you would like - due to the proximity of the restaurant to various sightseeing spots staff seemed very used to non-Japanese speakers, even though English was not spoken by staff.

I went there with a friend, because his professor recommend this restaurant, if we ever want to eat "real" sushi. Typically, we go to hamazushi, which is good, because if the low price and considering we are students. I still enjoy that. But Sushi Zanmai is truly nice. Sushi is good. You can watch how it is prepared, if you sit at the counter. The staff takes care of you, meaning always on the watch to help you. This restaurant is a chain, so it exists a few times within Tokyo. Highly recommended.

We go to Sushi Zanmai every time we visit Japan. It’s great value for money, and can be a really good alternative for those who find omakase too challenging/intimidating or simply want to try authentic sushi without breaking the bank. Zanmai has great quality fish and nicely seasoned rice. Staff are very polite and helpful, and if you don’t speak Japanese, they will help you to set up language on the tablet to order. Always great to be back there.

I love this sushi place. No like other modern sushi resto that are all already full automatic, sushi zanmai still have staff to assist and serve the food. But of course the price is more expensive compare other automatic sushi resto. You can order the dishes from the tablet on the table, and just wait until the staff serves the dishes. The sushi is good and fresh, shisamo fish also delicious and fresh, I love this shisamo. Recommended

Not bad for what you pay but not the cheapest either. I wouldn't wait more than 30 minutes for this though. Service here was excellent and very attentive. We tried a little bit of everything and the one dish that stood out differently was the Tuna Tartare Yukke Style. Pretty tasty and would be perfect to pair with some nori. Super easy to order with the tablet especially if you can't speak Japanese.

Sea snail sashimi was so hard until we can't even bite at all .i left the whole plate and shown to the waiter .He brought to kitchen for a while but bring back without doing anything except saying a few Japanese words . I think he mentioned is like this . Out of my expectation on sushi quality and is not worth to pay on his food which is generally higher price than others sushi shop.
