We visited on Saturday for buffet lunch. Arrived at 12:45pm, not busy. We got seated by the seaview window. There's quite a bit going on down below, but look further and enjoy the seaview. The other side of the building is the forest view, which is nice too. There are outdoor areas on both sides as well. The restaurant is not cramped and there is sufficient space between each table. The temperature is cool and the music not intrusive. The interior design is beautiful, with a lot of greenery. We especially like the bamboos along the sides. 5 stars for the scenery and ambience. As noted in other reviews, the buffet spread is not a large one. For the price (RM68 per person), it is reasonable, we don't mind small buffet spread. However, what such buffets lack in quantity, we would appreciate quality, which in ON22, we think is hit-and-miss. We enjoyed the desserts and drinks, those were our favorite things. Especially the drinks, sweet not too sweet, sour not too sour, very balanced. The food in general is OK, but can be improved. Just to mention a few examples: the bamboo shoots were still a bit bitter, the kerabu salad can be more flavorful, the prawn in the pomelo salad can be more bouncy. Also, we ordered aglio olio at the pasta station, but somehow it became carbonara. It tasted good anyway, so no complaints, just a bit surprised. Overall 4 stars for the food. Service was good. We didn't need a lot of help during our meal, but everyone smiles and are willing to offer assistance. The crew asked us how the food was after we paid, so we mentioned the same things as noted in this review above. 5 stars for the service, nothing to fault. Recommended for the view and overall atmosphere.

Second time eating here, well worth a visit. The food is tasty with a great variety of foods for both meat eaters and veggies! The staff are really helpful, attentive with top tier service. Wednesday to Saturday are buffet nights but there is a choice of food cooked to order. There’s a huge variety of drinks from beer, to 22 fresh fruit juices from all over Borneo. There is also a cocktail menu if you’re really wanting to enjoy your holiday. We started with the Humus and bread (pitta breads) and a cheeky prawn cocktail which was a great start! We then moved onto the Korean Glass noddles from the salad bar, again these were lovely. After that I needed a little rest, but was too tempted by the pasta bar which was made to order in front of you after you have chosen your ingredients. Again, nice and tasty and ofcourse fresh. I then moved onto the Grilled Local Baramundi Fillet, which came with a Sambal sauce and was delicious. I also added the Garlic rice which was a wonderful accompaniment. The dessert selection is an array of choice! We went for the Biscof Cheesecake to share, I’ve had better. This place is fresh, clean and comfortable for a nice evening meal. It’s definitely worth a visit!

Been here since their opening, food was much better before they decided to dumb down flavours. Service was average. Atmosphere is both good, day time and night time. The dealbreaker for me was coming for their collab event between ON22 and Hide KL. Firstly, the event was a 6 course dinner that costs rm398 per pax, 3 of us went. We went for the wine pairing at an additional rm150 per pax. Not gonna lie, was easily one of the worst meals I’ve spent on, food was apparently both restaurants signature dishes. For a supposedly nice dinner, you’d think they’d have slow jazz or something nice playing in the background but no, they had a 2-piece acoustic band that was just not fitting and was a complete distraction to the vibes. And when the live band went on break, that had bistro-pub pop playing, horrible. Wine pairing wasn’t bad, first glass came too early, last glass was great but the waiter decided to screw that up by pouring us a ā€˜free refill’ and the wine was warm, almost hot. What a waste of great wine that was leftover before the refill. Tried giving some feedbacks to the team that wasn’t too keen on receiving them so I’m just gonna leave this here. Cheers!

There's no other restaurant in the 22nd floor that I know of in Kota Kinabalu so that very much leaves On22 the only option that anyone could have if they wish to enjoy meals or good drinks somewhere extra nice in KK.

The food: The dinner menu variety was always innovative and remained consistently excellent in terms of presentation and taste.

The service: Everyone was always smiling and genuinely happy to help and to deliver personalized service. I did not ask their names but the service team last night 6 Sep did an amazing job at making us feel comfortable. They explained about the menu, which dishes to try, and were always checking on us to see if we needed help with anything.

The atmosphere: The sunset does play a pivotal role in creating the exclusive dining experience at On22. I imagine on rainy days this would not be the case. Still, having dinner with good company as you watch the sun sets and the skies changing colors is always a nice way to wrap up a busy day or week or month. The interior decor is nice. At dinner time, the lighting at night may be a little to dim for some. Whether you're seated in, or outside the restaurant (when the weather is good), you would love it.

A 10/10. Thank you, On22 Team, Lilian and Charlotte, for the amazing hospitality and...
