If you wish to taste Penang traditional food catered for vegetarians, this is the place to go. This is the place we went for several days for our breakfast. Flavourful and so good. The prices are ridiculously inexpensive.
Our last breakfast was free and we paid only for our drinks. Someone had gone earlier and paid for everyone's meal. Another pleasant surprise.
I wish they had Tea-C, instead of just coffee. They have home made Chrysanthemum tea which frankly tasted more like Lo Han Kuo.
It's a small restaurant, but they had tables and chairs on the small side road next to it. This lends that little more colour to this joint.
The guy serving us was always friendly during our breakfasts visits. They even allowed us to bring Tea-C from another shop nearby.
The name of this joint is Coo Sweet Bun Vegan Restaurant... I wonder how "sweet bun" got into their name?
Nevertheless, great place for vegetarians to have their breakfast in Georgetown. Grateful for such a place for us...

Tucked quietly in a corner of Penang is a humble yet heartfelt vegetarian eatery — Coo Sweet Bun, lovingly run by a group of siblings who share a bond not just through family, but through a common belief in food, compassion, and karmic connection.
Over the past three years, they’ve remained grounded in their original purpose: to offer honest, soul-warming meals, and to serve as a space where kindness can be shared through food.
The menu leans into familiar Penang-style local noodles and small eats, with flavours rooted in everyday comfort — nothing flashy, just solid, well-seasoned, home-style fare.
From a steaming bowl of vegetarian curry noodles to their humble wonton noodles, each dish carries a down-to-earth quality, reflecting the simplicity and sincerity of daily life.
The restaurant’s story began with the younger brother, who once taught in the United States.
Touched by the idea of food as a medium of compassion and shared blessings, he returned home and started this journey with his sister — allowing diners to not only enjoy a good vegetarian meal, but also take part in a quiet act of giving.
“To eat vegetarian for a day is to refrain from harm for a day.”
This belief is embedded in their pricing, their dishes, and how they treat every customer.
Though the space is modest, it is filled with warmth and quiet joy.
Friendly smiles and gentle conversations make diners feel welcomed and at peace.
The pricing is simple and honest — making it a perfect entry point for anyone exploring vegetarian food or simply wishing to pass on a small kindness.
