I came here for lunch after some time. I used to come here during my secondary school days. The chicken rice is pretty decent, the rice is fluffy and full of flavour. The steam chicken (白斩鸡) is soft tender and juicy, the roasted chicken and duck are also very nice. One thing that I didn't quite like was the fact that he poured too much sesame oil over it and it was too overpowering. The sour soup is also nice, it has a nice 'roasted and burnt' taste. The sweet, sour and saltiness are all balanced very well.
On certain days, he also sells char tomyum bee hoon, laksa and nasi lemak. I personally like his tomyum bee hoon. 4 prawns and a big portion for rm10. Very good.
The uncle is a friendly guy. He is what I call 有求必应. It means you just tell him whatever request you want, he will try to make it for you.

Fatty Boy sits front and center as the highlight of this small and unassuming coffee shop along Burmah Road. There is no parking along the road, so you'd have to find parking elsewhere nearby. I managed to park along Lorong Selamat.
The food? Good, but not the best. Everything was just OK for me. The chicken was not up to mark, the roasted pork (sio bak) saved the day. The taufoo and hard boiled agg was also another so-so dish.
All in all, it was alright, but I wouldn't make a trip just for this. You're better off at other chicken rice...
Read moreI have had Chicken rice on a regular basis from Singapore to most states in Malaysia. This Roasted chicken rice at Fatty Boy which is often boneless (an often unrequested service volunteered by the exceptional service oriented humble boss) is by Far the very BEST in Penang Island or mainland. Besides the very noticeable crisp and tenderness even for Breast and Wings, unheard of elsewhere, there's something about the entire package of fragrant rice and shallots that tends to leave you asking for more when done. Its no exaggeration. Right next to Tunes Hotel Open from 9am til around 4-5pm rest on Wednesdays and one other day ( 1st day of cny) This Outstanding Gem is a must for...
