What a great find just about a block from the hotel (Novotel Cusco) we were staying at. Dropped in for a quick bite and some cocktails after a day of sightseeing. Our guide recommended we check it out and it was a good recommendation to say the least. Service was excellent with a friendly greeting and some really nice touches after we finished our meal. A serving of Chulpi, Peruvian corn kernels, were provided gratis. A nice touch. First time having them and really liked them. Ordered Tequenos to share (picture shows an empty plate because we devoured them before thinking about taking a picture...lol). Loved them. Polished them off in an instant...they were that good. Cocktails were Pisco Passion and hate to say it, but can't remember what my wife ordered (took a picture of it though). Can tell you this she loved it. After we were all done our waiter, Carlos, asked us if we were familiar with Pisco. We were not and Carlos offered us a small tasting (once again something gratis). Way to go Carlos! It was smooth and delicious. It was also funny that Carlos is my father's name so it was like my dad saying give this a try. 100% recommend this place. It's a fun and...

This is called a museum, but more like a large bar with Pisco history and classes. This place is passionate about sharing their knowledge of all things Pisco. Pisco is the Peruvian national favourite alcoholic drink, which dates back to the days of the Incas and subsequent arrival of the Spanish Conqusitadors. We learned that the Europeans brought products such as grapes and these were made into a kind of brandy called Pisco, named after a native chieftan. We also learn how the Pisco is made; picking the grapes, stomping, blending, fermenting, distilling and then rest. You can then sample a number of different Pisco brands, learn how to make a Pisco sour or just simply order a drink. We did the Pisco tasting and our waiter was superb - extremely knowledgeable. We then ordered a traditional Pisco Sour and a Maracuya sour - some of the best drinks we’ve tasted! This bar/museum is great. It’s large, has a good atmosphere and great drinks. They also...

The Museo del Pisco is well-positioned near hotels and in central Cusco. It provides a place for either a quick bite to eat or drinks. There are tour options for getting a lesson on the making of pisco with tastings. There are also cocktail-making classes. I took part in the pisco-tasting tour that involved enjoying the different varieties of pure pisco. I also enjoyed the great cocktails available that are amazing to taste. The Museo is compact but provides an intimate setting with the bar being the focal point. There is a lively atmosphere and it is fun watching the cocktail-making classes in action. A highly recommended venue that provides an array of entertainment and more importantly pisco.
