A Mi Manera, "My Way", is a hidden gem. It's a gourmet restaurant tucked away on the second floor of a beautiful colonial era mansion with an open courtyard.
The wait staff were 100% professional and super-friendly. The decor is conservative and stylish with a traditional feel. The food presentation is superb. Everything was served with a very elegant esthetic. The prices are outstanding given the atmosphere, service, and quality of food.
Our waiter, Salomon, was attentive, polite, and professional.
This was the perfect end to a long day trekking around on a City Tour of Cusco. If "adult" drinks are your cup of tea, they have a generous and extensive menu of beverages. We went for an actual cup of tea: Muñá tea (an herb with a soothing blend of mint and chamomile). They brought out cups with a sprig of fresh (green) muña. We each had about three very flavorful cups from that one sprig.
The Ajía la Gallina was superb. An exquisitely delicate blend of ají amarillo and just a few more spices. The chicken was moist and tender. Just excellent.
The Lomo Saltado (Stir-fried loin, literally "tossed loin") was also well flavored and braised to perfection. Unfortunately, it was medium-well even though we had clearly expressed that we wanted it to be a little under medium-rare. This was the one disappointment of the entire evening.
The highlight was the ice cream: a house-made passion fruit ice cream in a chocolate-dipped pastry shell accompanied by a scoop of mint with candied orange peel. The presentation was world-class, served on a natural slate slab with a variety of drizzled yumminess just as you would expect in any 3-star Michelin restaurant. A dusting of powdered sugar with the silhouette of a dessert fork added an uncommonly sophisticated touch. This was a gourmet tour de force.
If you have a party of two, the alcove next to the kitchen is a cozy spot for an intimate meal with a nice window view.
Finding a reasonably-priced elegant dining experience in a tourist area was an unexpected delight. Highy...

The complementary starter was a delightful introduction to the meal, offering a rich, deep mango flavor subtly enhanced by a hint of the ceviche’s signature tang. The presentation was stunning, reflecting the impeccable work of the staff.
The chicken dish was a standout, far exceeding its simple translation of “spicy chicken.” The flavors were elevated and complex, with a creamy sauce base that was simply exquisite. The interplay of ingredients—earthy olives, delicate quail eggs, and tender potatoes—created a comforting yet sophisticated flavor profile. Paired with perfectly cooked rice, every bite was a pleasure until I was too full to continue.
The complementary dessert, a ball of chocolate in caramel was amazing, not too sweet and a perfect end to the night.
The service was exceptional, with the servers moving with purpose and pride. From the thoughtful touch of offering warm towels to their meticulous attention to detail, it was clear they were fully dedicated to creating an outstanding dining experience. Their behind-the-scenes coordination and genuine care for their guests were refreshing, especially compared to the North American restaurant scene. My first night dining in Cusco, at A Mi Manera, felt like a warm embrace into the heart of Peruvian hospitality.
Equally impressive was the kitchen, where watching the chefs was like witnessing a well-choreographed performance. Each task was carried out with care and efficiency, ensuring every dish was freshly prepared and meticulously checked for quality. The wait, if any, was justified by the magical results—food crafted with attention, precision, and pride. A Mi Manera delivered an experience that was as welcoming as it was...
