This is such a wonderful place and I cannot recommend it enough! Please go and eat here when in Cusco, regardless if you are a vegan or not. We went there for lunch, and came back for dinner several days later. Food is really delicious and freshly prepared, they have some original dishes (please try their wonderful pizza!) and they also offer some typical Peruvian dishes with a vegan twist. The entire experience in this restaurant was absolutely perfect, from the pleasant ambience, very friendly, kind and helpful staff, and the food which is beyond words.
The first time we ate corn soup, quinoto and their signature pizza with seitan, which came with three types of vegan cheese, each one more interesting and more delicious than the other. All dishes were wonderful, and the visual presentation was interesting and really beautiful.
The second time we tried the other type of pizza they offer, which was also perfect. If I remember correctly, the dough is prepared with quinoa flour. We also ate guacamole, and potato dumplings in three types of sauces. Again everything was so tasty, and almost too pretty looking to eat.
I do not know if life will take me to Cusco again, but I would definitely like to come...
Read moreVida vegan bistro is quite literally a hole in the wall with only 6 seats in the middle, the kitchen in the front, and a bathroom in the back. I went in with my family so we had 5 people total but this restaurant was a great place to hang out for a bit with some provided games on the table. We ordered a lot of food (I wish I had more pictures) but everything was absolutely delicious. We ordered a pisco punch, a maraquya sour, the 3 flavor causa (pictured) with the saltado sandwich, saltado plate, and mushroom ceviche. The saltado had amazingly textured savory seitan, and the mushroom ceviche came with fresh oyster mushrooms that tasted out of this world. The Leche de Tigre that was in the ceviche was incredible and tasted so authentic. The man that ran the restaurant was so friendly and welcoming answering our questions and not getting overwhelmed by our orders. You can definitely feel the love that is put...
Read moreWould give six stars if I could. This is a wonderful vegan restaurant in the centre of Cusco. The menu is so varied, and very good prices.
It was lovely seeing a vegan pisco sour on the menu which was beautifully presented, and the aquafaba top lasts longer than the traditional egg white. They clearly have a real dedication to eco friendly options - this was the first place we saw with non-plastic straws.
We had the huancaina potato starter, which was another beautiful dish served in a hollowed out stone! The server gave a really interesting explanation when it was presented which was appreciated, and she had already gauged what level of spice we would prefer.
For mains, we had the sauteed beef creole and beef steak grill with mashed potato - both labelled as typical Peruvian food to help our choice. The seitan in both was perfect, and both were delicious.
Highly...
