Upfront: Just go there and enjoy! If you don‘t agree with me about the food, you might like the incomparable view over Lisbon and/or vice versa. Most people I did ask so far like both. Here‘s my story on it. Although I always wanted to go there since I arrived in Lisbon (that‘s six years already) I only kept it on my bucket list for this infamous „maybe later“. Sometimes more on top of it, sometimes less. And as it happened, in the end it wasn’t my effort to make it the very first time. Some friends tricked me into a birthday surprise party and here I was. Amazed and happy and finally satisfied and a fan right away. The staff is nice and takes good care of the guests, the drinks are well sorted and being served with the right temperature and the food is just amazing. The night we’ve been there for my birthday, we went for a basket with bread variations accompanied by olives and olive paste. The main courses have been steak, tuna and codfish and finally we couldn’t help but order three different desserts to share. All of it was nothing but amazing. I mentioned the view before. From the terrace you‘re looking straight to the Elevator of Santa Justa next to the ruins of Convente Do Carmo and you’ll enjoy a great panorama reaching from the water of the Tagus River on the left to the stepped silhouette of the Intercontinental Hotel in Lisbon on the right hand side. When it’s night as it has been with my first visit Lisbon is all twinkling and radiating warm light from sources all around. My second visit was in the middle of the day and I enjoyed the view under a rich blue sky. Between the many nice restaurants I had the pleasure to be so far, this one will be one of my favorites...

The place is not baby or child friendly. Despite the head waiter trying to be accommodating, his support staff wasn't up to standard. Asked the hostess called Isabella and then a waiter for a second bottle of wine and water, which never came. We were nagged constantly to order our mains, but only reminded of the two hour booking slot 15 minutes before it was up. It got to a point where they asked for the menus back before we ordered our mains, leaving only 1 menu for a party of 6. Whilst waiting for the mains to arrive, me and my child were placing some corn kernels from one of their starters on a napkin to pass time for the little one. The same Isabella just came and abruptly snatched the corn kernels off the table saying that wasn't for playing. There are different ways to approach this simple situation, but the way she handled it was poor and she came across as rude and uninviting. That set a really bad vibe for the rest of the evening, and made us feel really unwelcomed there. The wine and the water not arriving really distracted us from enjoying our mains, which when arrived the staff was busy and by then the place felt understaffed. The starters were really nice. For mains I had Barriga Porco: the pork skin was crunchy, well made, but the meat was overly dry, as if it had been made days ago, not pleasing at all. We went there for the rooftop view, and that was pretty much all we got. Smoking is allowed in the terrace, which means we had constant clouds of cigarette smoke blowing at us throughout our negative experience there. There are more rooftops in Lisbon, this is certainly not the best, with poor atmosphere and...

Start (pm) 9:20 Ordered 9:40 Beat soup 9:50 Pork belly 10:20 mango desert asked 10:40 arrived 10:50. Beet soup 3.75€ It's a sweet beet cream  with sunflower seeds and cream cheese and a bit of parsley as garnish(contains apples slices??). The cheese fattiness balances well with the sweet cream and the sunflowers seeds give you the sensation of crispiness. There was probably olive oil on top of the soup but couldn't determine it's quality by flavour. I would have also preferes extra cheese cube to have suficiente for  all soup but overall: 4/5

Pork belly (specialty*) 15.30€ Burned/Charded flavour on first bite. Some of my pieces this time where a bit over cooked/more chewie. Have to say the fat was well rendered. The meat itself seemed to be of good quality. Strong flavour combination that is well freshened out by the pickled pink ginger. Bowl dish format makes it harder to cut; Would have prefered flat one. Walnut cream overpowered a bit but thats personal preference maybe some citrous would pair well. 4/5 Mango desert peper mint ice cream 5.65€ It was quite fresh the pepermint ice cream overpowerinf at first but at ur second bite is melows down and is quite enjoying with the mango sweetness. The caramel/ sugar crust was the crispy factor with cinnamon flavour and made it quite enjoyable. 4.5/5 favorite dish.

Water 2.35€

Beatiful view Multiple waitresses might serve you during ur dining experience, so don't be alarmed.

Negative for me was wait time and food/plate temperature being a bit tepid.

Overall positive 3.5/5 when equating for cost 4/5

They always seem to have to had some crustiness element to their...
