My wife and I have enjoyed this establishment several times over the years. Yesterday my wife and I decided to swing by and throw some axes and get some food / drinks. Now a lot of people who leave reviews have no real experience in the services industry. Prior to currently owning and operating a very successful small business, I was an operations manager for a MN brewery for several years. I understand the service industry like the back of my hand.
The food at this establishment was absolutely horrible. No flavor whatsoever, overpriced, and the portion ratios are all out of whack. The food menu needs a complete overhaul. I could say the same thing for the drink menu as well.
For an establishment like this, the kitchen most likely breaks even and they make the bulk of their profits from the liquor / activities.
The evening went well, but the food was absolutely horrible. Got the tab and paid our bill. We finished throwing axes and put the leftover food into go containers. The wife wanted another drink before we headed out, so I made my way up to the bar.
I made my way up to the bar and and stood there while I waited for the bartender to make his way to me. There was no open seat at the bar and I just stood by the opening to where the bar opened up to the main floor area. Several minutes passed and the bartender made eye contact with me several times, but yet made zero effort to interact me. Twice, I tried to request a double shot of my wife's favorite drink, but for whatever reason this bartender decided that he was going to flat out ignore me. The male bartender had long black hair.
After standing there for 10 minutes with my wallet / credit card in my hand, I looked back at my wife and she motioned for me to just forget about her drink and for us to just get going. It is pretty disappointing how this employee behaved.
After this incident, my wife and I are reconsidering whether or not, spending hundreds of dollars each time we come to this establishment is appropriate. To be honest, the food is absolutely horrible, the activities are repetitive and they get old quick, the employees are alright but they lack professionalism and just overall act like they hate their life.
At first I was just going to forget about it. But after recalling what happened, it was very clear that the bartender that evening was intentionally ignoring me and refused to serve me.
We will keep this in mind when deciding where to spend our weekends, money, and time. Employees like this are the reason why a lot of establishments end up going out of business. What happens is that the owners don't realize they have an employee that acts like they own the place. No General manager is present to keep ass clowns like this bartender in check, thus one employee can slowly destroy the customer base over a period of time and drive the establishment into the ground. When customers are disrespected, mistreated, and intentionally ignored. That tells the customer all they need to know.
In Conclusion, if this establishment does not want my money, well hell, I will take my spending power elsewhere. The lack of talent in the service Industry is apparent and ass clowns like this bartender just go to show why an on-site General manager is needed to maintain quality and...
Read moreCame here with my husband and a friend of ours for the racing, being a fan of the K1 carts in California. Pre-race one of the employees clearly didn’t feel like being there and made sure we all knew it. Because all carts are different from place to place, I never assume and start messing with things, I wait until we are instructed to make changes for comfort to the cart, when the same disgruntled employee came over to assist me with cart check, he was clearly annoyed with me when I asked him to assist with the pedal length, since I was taller than the last rider. During the race I noticed after about three or four laps that I could turn the steering wheel to the right around turns, but I couldn’t turn the steering at all to the left which for their course, most of the turns are a left turn. It had already caused one spin out, so I pulled off to the side, put my hand up to let the staff know that there was a problem. One of the employees (a kinder one) was understanding and told me to pull up so they could change out the cart knowing it could be a potential hazard for everyone if something was wrong. The prior disgruntled staff member rudely approached me, and told me, “I can do two things, I’m either going to put you in another cart that’s going to feel exactly the same as your last one, or I’m putting you in a Junior cart.” I told him if it made him feel better to put me in a Junior cart than by all means do it, and his face was shocked, but I told him that this wasn’t my first time go karting and that they really need to consider looking at that cart before putting another person in it for safety reasons. He didn’t listen, put me into a different normal sized cart, and loaded the next set of people including the broken cart. The cart I used after the switch was significantly better with steering and when we were turning in gear, he was smug and asked me if I noticed a difference, and when I told him the steering was significantly different, his eyes widened and he said “I guess I’ll have to take it for a test drive.”
Highly recommend they double check something on Cart 18 or someone is going to end up hurt. The answer shouldn’t be “just go faster”, I did that and spun out which is exactly what you’re trying to avoid for the safety of everyone racing.
Out of all of the staff that we had encountered at this establishment which was only one bartender, and the racing staff, the bartender was nice, and one of the racing staff was kind and understanding but it was clear the rest did not want to be there and made it well known.
Won’t be returning anytime soon unless my husband insists on trying the axe throwing there as opposed to somewhere...
Read moreOverall I am really impressed with how Fair on 4 runs the place. The staff run the operation a lot better than back when Smaash ran the place. I have only done the kart racing here because that is what I come here for. I have been Kart racing for 9 years and I have competed against some of the best kart racers in the country in recent years. From a racer perspective go for the best lap times instead of actually trying to pass people because the track is impossible to do close racing on, but the track is still challenging for the experienced racer and beginners. The Quality of the kart racing here is top notch is comparable to Pro Kart Maple Grove and Burnsville besides for not being able to do close racing because the track is tight. Think of it as the kart track version of Monaco that the Formula one drivers race on every year, but Fair On 4 did take out the corners that were impossible to get through and that is one of the main reasons I come back if I want to do some racing because the track is really enjoyable now and feels like how every track should feel. FOR PEOPLE THAT DON’T KNOW KART RACING: The reason why one race cost $30 is because these are real racing racing karts that are made in Europe and these karts made are Sodi karts the Sodi makes multiple different versions of rentals karts depending on what the consumer wants. Sodi makes both Gasoline and Electric karts but handle the same and the karts are meant to be driven like a race car where you need to use the brake going into the corner. Since the karts are the best of what Money can buy expect to paying more money compared to if you where to go to an amusement park where the karts only go 15 mph. These karts at top speed on this track go in the low to mid 30mph range. The Average price at any rental kart track in the U.S is roughly $20-$30 Compared to the slow amusement park karts that you don’t need a helmet even need a helmet because of the low speed is roughly $5-$15. Not trying to turn people away coming here. Just trying to Clarify questions people many have on the kart racing here. If you are a experienced racer or just trying it out I recommend coming out. Who knows you might get hooked onto racing for life After trying it once and try to beat my lap time of 33.177 which is the track record....
