What a horrible experience! Flying from Nashville To Denver to spend our Thanksgiving holiday in Denver. We had reservations for two at 6:00 pm on Thanksgiving with our reservations being confirmed twice. Upon arriving the hostess staff was extremely pleasant but it was very obvious this location had over booked. Customers were standing everywhere. Inside and out. 45 minutes later we were seated only to be ignored by our server. Finally he came to our table, introduced himself, and advised of numerous problems that were being experienced and that they had run out of certain food items. Without knowing what items were available how do you place your order? We requested the server find out what items on the menu were no longer available and he when he returned we would know how and what to order. When our server walked past our table some 45 minutes later, we stopped him only to be told he had forgotten to inquire as to what remained available. At this point we simply wanted to have a meal and leave. We placed our order for two filets (nothing odd) but never saw our server again and we never received our order. The hostess whom had seated us later walked through the dining room and notice were were still sitting at our table. She then spoke with the manager and explained to him how long we had been seated. He slowly came to our table but truly could have cared less. Our experience was not at all a concern for him. All he cared to do was discuss labor problems which had affected their service and the operations of the location. He did not care to discuss they had clearly overbooked or the fact that the kitchen had failed to prepare for such a popular day of dining out. He did offer more wine until he could determine the status of our order. He later returned to the table stating they had run out of Pinot Grigio but he had "superior" replacement. It was simply a very bad replacement. He assured us he was going verify the status of our order and would return to our table. We never spoke with this manager again as he diligently went back to walking the dinning room filling water glasses. Two hours have past at this point so we decided it would be best to simply leave as it was truly a mess at this location with a manager who was very content pouring water. We were never told what had happened with our order and it was clear we had a server that was not seasoned for the task at hand.
As we were leaving, I saw our server at another table and advised we were leaving. His response was simply "OK" with a grin on his face. As we were walking out the same hostess who had been so kind pleaded that we discuss our experience with McKenna who was a different manager. McKenna was very kind, concerned and very professional and truly seem shocked. He verified our experience through others and made no excuses. He did everything he could to try and salvage this mess into something positive. McKenna insisted he be allowed seated us in the bar area. He had a different server bring us a turkey plate. Certainly not what we had ordered but much appreciated after 2 1/2 hours. Simply put, unless "McKenna" is there to resolve issues such as ours there is no one in management at this location that cares and one server who clearly doesn't care. It is obvious that Ruth's Chris, downtown Denver, has the wrong manager in charge as all he desires to do is serve water. McKenna seems to be the only one with an interest to...
Read moreMy family and I visited this location to celebrate my niece’s 21st birthday, and unfortunately, the experience fell short of expectations—especially considering the high price point and the significance of the occasion.
To begin with the positives, Lorenzo—who was assisting our main server Mark—was absolutely excellent. Despite not being our primary server, he was by far the most attentive, energetic, and welcoming member of the staff we interacted with. His bright attitude and consistent check-ins truly helped elevate the experience.
Mark, was also very kind and friendly. We enjoyed his presence, and there’s nothing negative to say about him personally—he was just less attentive throughout the meal compared to Lorenzo.
However, we did notice some uncomfortable behavior from the manager on duty. While generally polite, his interactions with our table felt oddly calculated—as if he were trying to “figure us out.” What stood out was that this behavior seemed directed only at our table. Given that we were one of the only Hispanic families in the restaurant, it made some of us feel singled out, which was disappointing and off-putting, even if unintentional.
The most significant issue, though, was the food. Multiple orders were either overcooked, overly seasoned, or simply forgotten. One guest received a well-done steak after requesting medium-well—it was charred beyond what could be considered acceptable. While the kitchen did offer to replace it, the estimated wait time of 20–25 minutes was too long considering everyone else had already been served. We had driven over an hour to share this meal together, and waiting that long would’ve meant eating separately.
Two additional steaks were so heavily seasoned that they were difficult to enjoy—unfortunately, one of them belonged to the birthday girl. However, we didn’t bring this to the staff’s attention because at that point, having three steaks remade would’ve turned the situation into a much larger disruption. We chose to compromise for the sake of keeping the celebration moving, even if it meant a less enjoyable meal.
While the desserts were delicious, one was forgotten and had to be taken to-go due to the delay.
For a party of nine, the bill came to over $1,000. At that price point, the food quality, accuracy, and overall coordination should reflect a much higher standard. We were disappointed with the inconsistency and lack of attention to key details in the meal itself.
We still chose to tip 25%—not because the experience met our expectations, but because we didn’t want to be the party that sat through a 1–2 hour meal and then penalized the servers for kitchen and managerial issues outside their control. Lorenzo’s effort especially didn’t go unnoticed, and we felt it was important to acknowledge that.
Ultimately, it’s unfortunate that our experience didn’t match the level of quality or care we had hoped for on such a special occasion.
This was the...
Read moreFor the past few years I’ve been taking my friends to Ruth Chris for there birthday because how extraordinary special they make it. With the extra details they put into the dinner makes it amazing and special event. I was bragging to a few of my friends about this so we decided to take my birthday here. I called up and made the reservations. And made sure to tell them it was a special occasion for a birthday. We all arrive and we then walk to be seated, we can see all the tables where birthdays are at because of how the tables are decorate. We walk pass so many empty tables that are decorated for birthday events and seated at the back of the restaurant with a table that wasn't decorated. The server saw she gave us the wrong table and moved us further to the back corner, again at a table that wasn't decorated. We where still waiting for one more in our party so I decided to just order drinks and not worry about it. Finally our last person gets there and we look at the menu. I saw right away we where not given the special occasion/birthday menu. So I knew that our table wasn't getting the white glove service that you except from Ruth Chris so I went up to the front desk. I spoke with someone and they stated “they had to many birthday parties and it much of slipped through the cracks”. Nothing was done to correct the issue other than an hostess apology. I decided that I should just to let it go because I didn’t want to become a rude customer or ruin the night even more. We got our entrees and I’m not sure if the steak was just bad or I could taste the disappoint or both but probably one of the worst steaks I’ve ever had. Once dinner ended I was hoping since I spoke with someone at the front I would have corrected any issues of them not knowing it was a special occasion. But instead we where given our checks. We didn’t even get the birthday cake that I’ve gotten dozen of times taking my friends and family here for years. Instead I had to explain to our server about this issue and then he did correct it. After paying the thousand dollar check, I thought to myself I don't think I would ever come back here again. I was treated like a wasn't important and my birthday is not as special as everyone else’s birthday here. Every time I came before I was given the high class white glove service you except from Ruth Chris, instead I was treated like I was nothing more then another customer with a...
