I will start off by saying I 100% take ownership for not reading the sign completely. That's on me.
I've been a huge Snarf's fan since my first visit. I've always have good food and service. I was so disappointed today with my Snarf's customer service...or lack there of.
I saw the sign for a Mambo Combo. I love soup, so I was onboard. I told the cashier I wanted the Mambo combo. She took my order, barely speaking to me, and I paid.
When my order was called, I picked up the soup. I asked where was my sandwich. The employee, who turned out to be the manager, said I hadn't ordered one. I told him I ordered a combo and he said you have to order a sandwich.
I went back to the cashier and explained to her I had ordered the combo and paid $14.31. She said I had ordered a drink, too. [Math: $7.35 for soup plus $4.70 for a drink]. At that price, I thought that included the sandwich.
I explained that a combo implies two or more items. She just stared at me. The manager heard me getting frustrated with the lack of empathy from the cashier and came over. I asked to speak to the manager and he said he was the manager. He and I went around again with the explanations. I asked why the cashier, when ringing up my order for a combo, didn't ask what type of sandwich I wanted. No answer.
He clearly knew I was frustrated when I said, "You need to have a sign which is more clear", his answer to a paying customer was, "And you need to learn how to read signs". This coming from a manager.
I finally said "Let me order the sandwich so I can get out of here." His compensation for the $11.95 sandwich, on top of what I already had paid, was a whopping $2.39 discount.
I know it's fast food. I know it's hard to find people to work. Even though there were at least four or five employees working and the restaurant was dirty. The place should have been spotless, but that's my point. It's so hard finding GOOD customer service, let alone ANY customer service.
The food may be good, but I will never return to this Snarf's location. Their reputation has been tarnished thanks to these two top-notch employees representing the Snarf's Sandwich brand, I will think twice about going to Snarf's the next time I want a sandwich. They aren't the only place in Denver to...
Read moreSnarf's has been one of my favorite sandwiches places for the last decade or so and what I particularly like about them is the quality of their ingredients and the bread that they use. I have never gotten a sandwich that I would consider to be old or lacking in its freshness or flavor. My only real complaint is the actual price to filling ratio. For the price paid for the sandwiches the amount of meat that you actually get is fairly low which for me makes it very hard to justify eating here on a regular basis. Every now and then for the indulgence factor of getting a great sandwich and spending extra for it. Competition in the area, does not seem to suffer from the issue and has the same prices or less for a much larger overall sandwich.
For this particular location, one of my favorite things about the place is the decor. It is what we refer to as the Nerd Sandwich Shop because covering the walls is various scifi and nerd culture references which is great while you're waiting in line to be able to take a look around and pass the time. The staff here is also really good and friendly. I have never gotten the impression that they were being rushed or frustrated with me or an order and always seemed to be quick to respond to questions or requests.
Overall other than the lack of filling on the sandwiches this Snarf's is really good place to go. If you don't mind paying a premium price for not a lot of return all-be-it and get a great quality sandwich then I would highly recommend stopping in. For me it is worth it for the "once in a while" but not on a...

I don’t throw around the word perfection lightly, but Snarf’s in Downtown Denver just redefined what a sandwich should be. I stopped in on a whim and ordered the Roast Beef and Provolone, and let me tell you—it was love at first bite.
The bread? Warm, slightly crunchy on the outside, soft and chewy inside. Snarf’s has clearly mastered the art of the perfect bake. The roast beef was piled high, juicy, and full of rich, beefy flavor that tasted like it had been slow-roasted with care. And the provolone? Creamy, melty magic. Together, they created a combo that was bold, savory, and absolutely addictive.
And the toppings? I went all in—lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions, and their house hot peppers (don’t skip them!). Everything was fresh and perfectly balanced, like a flavor symphony in every bite. The zing of the peppers added just the right kick, elevating this sandwich to next-level status.
The staff was friendly, the vibe was cool and casual, and the place had that perfect "local hangout" energy. I left with a full stomach, a huge smile, and plans to come back tomorrow. If you're downtown and craving a sandwich that’ll ruin all other sandwiches for you, Snarf’s is THE move.
