I always wondered “what kind of person leaves a 1 star review on a McDonald’s?” It was a question that always seemed valid to me; most people complain about incompetent workers without considering that they’re probably just dealing with new workers, and a margin of error has got to be tolerated. Also, who doesn’t know what they’re getting into when they go to McDonald’s? Nobody’s ever gone to a McDonald’s in hopes of fantastic food or service. You go to McDonald’s because you’re hungry and you don’t want to spend a lot of money to remedy that.
Unfortunately, in spite of the fact that McDonald’s is the only restaurant that the bar is so low on that literally the only thing I expect from it is that they give me food in return for money, this McDonald’s has still managed to disappoint me.
When I went there, it was closed. Now, the more keen of you readers may have noticed that the store advertises itself as being open 24 hours. Now, I understand that the need for a 24 hour restaurant is probably lost on a lot of you, so let me explain why it’s important.
I work 8 hour shifts that start anywhere from 3PM to 7PM, and can last well past midnight. My employer doesn’t give me a discount on food, so I can either pay 10 bucks for a pretzel during my break or just wait it out and get a couple burgers for 5 dollars at McDonald’s.
This, of course, relies on the 24 hour open McDonald’s to be actually open 24 hours. Now, I understand that 24 hours is sometimes an exaggeration, and operating a 24 hour store is a tremendous pain, but I wasn’t even that late when I went to this McDonald’s. Most McDonald’s close at midnight, I literally rolled up to this place at 1:15 in the morning; that’s not really all that long after a normal store closes, so when I got there, exhausted and starved, you can imagine how upset I was to find that it was completely closed with all he lights off and nobody inside.
I know that you, reader, don’t know me in person, but if you did, you’d know that something I often say is “if McDonald’s wasn’t open for 24 hours, I’d never have a reason to ever go there again” and I say this because the average Wendy’s, from price to taste, is 100% better than the best McDonald’s out there. The only reason I ever go to McDonald’s it’s because it’s open late enough for me to eat there.
Well, it’s not anymore. There are no longer any more 24 hour McDonald’s that are actually honest-to-God open for 24 hours, or even just for an hour and a half longer than a normal McDonald’s. There is officially no reason left for me to ever go to McDonald’s again.
Do yourself and your wallet a favor, go to Wendy’s, get a 4 for 4. You’ll be...
Read moreIt’s been 85 years since your first store opened. You’re one of the most recognizable brands in the entire world with over 36,000 stores globally. You had historic profit margins of 14.5 billion in 2024. But yet I still have to be concerned if my fry order that now costs like $4 bucks is going to be edible or not. 85 years and you still have no level of consistency for you fry cooking procedure or when they should be tossed and fresh ones made. Honestly, get your shit together. This is why I welcome AI into the work force. I know those robot Blokes gonna make my fries every single time. Golden and crispy, still hot and sizzle when you smash em into some ketchup. Can you smell em, can you taste em?! What I was given tonight, like many before and many ahead, was a luke warm box of brown, no gold and no crisp. It’s such a massive let down when you reach into that bag just as you pull away from the drive thru and you feel that soft, old lady skin looking potato slice. Even one of those has no business in my box, let alone fill it. It ruins the whole meal, the whole night, the whole week. Where do you get off selling a box of the choice nugs (golden, crispy, sizzle ketchup, keep up) and then turn around and sell me a box bullsh!t for the same price?! The old bait and switch, huh? Isn’t that illegal, at the very least immoral. Maybe get your priorities straighter out by 2026 or so help me Ronald I’m coming you, demon time. Grimace will be out of lock up by then and you know he’s got a bone to pick with how you hung him out to dry. Do what’s right, Ronnnnnald....
Read more2nd time in a month I have stopped by on my way to work around 2:30-3am and they're parking lot lights are off. Employees cars are in the parking lot, lights on inside but when I pull up to the order machine nobody answers after 5min of waiting. I back up and pull back up and wait again and still nothing. Something needs to be done. If you have a drive thru sign that says 24hrs. And your Google webpage says 24hrs AND your giant light up sign says 24hrs your employees need to be there 24hrs. Clearly not 24hrs. And this isnt my first bad experience. I stopped by this last Monday-Tuesday around 12am right after the offspring concert and the lady handing out food was extremely rude. Instead of saying enjoy or anything she walks to the window, hands me my food and with an annoyed tone in her voice says "Bye Bye" how rude can you get? What kind of customer service is that? Not to mention doesnt even double check and make sure I'm getting the correct food? That night I ordered coffee, a Mcdouble with extra pickle and onion, and a spicy McChicken add pickle. Coffee was fine. Mcdouble did not have extra pickle. No extra onion, too much ketchup and no mustard. Spicy McChicken had no added pickle like requested, almost no lettuce and way too much mayonnaise. I am thoroughly fed up with the poor late night service. From now on I'll be stopping at 711 for my coffee and late night food on my way to work. This McDonalds has been going down hill for a very long time and it's only been getting worse. Something...
