Delicious and incredibly filling! We came over to Fat Sal's after finishing moving into a new place, and were exceptionally pleased to find subs and other food with giant portions to re-fill ourselves on! It has two separate locations at the same site, one of them being for to-go/delivery orders only. The sit-down location was on the corner and had a nice open air interior and patio on the side. It was very clean, modern, and well-decorated inside of it. Spacious patio tables provided us with a great spot to relax and dig in! You order up at the counter and then receive a buzzer to call you back when it's ready. We split the Italiano sub and the half portions more than filled up both of us - and we were definitely starving after moving in that day! We also got some of the mozzarella and gravy fries, which were a bit pricey but came with a huge tub of gravy and a giant container of the fries - which had tons of cheese doused all over it! They were the perfect accompaniment to the sub and left us more than pleased. We were also able to get generously sized cups and ketchup and ranch to accompany the sandwich without an extra charge, something that's become increasingly rare these days. The Coca-Cola fountain machine was also well-stocked with a wide variety of sodas, all of which were very crisp tasting! The order was ready in a relatively short amount of time, despite a decently large crowd at the time, and we quickly were able to dig-in and enjoy the meal! I definitely recommend Fat Sal's and can't wait to try more of their items on the menu, especially different subs and fries!

Started by Turtle from Entourage and other investors I have known about Fat Sal’s for awhile, especially when they brand as Big Kahuna Burger during Halloween. Tonight was actually my first time trying it because I wanted an indulgent cheat meal and felt like trying something new. Glancing at the menu, they have a lot of crazy, stuffed, huge sandwiches, so I figured this would fit the criteria I was searching for. Tonight I chose the Fat Bodega and a side of Cheese Fries. I’m a huge fan of the Bodega Cheese Sandwich in general and this one was very tasty. Not my favorite that I’ve had in LA, but still overall good. The fries are also good but reminded me of Wienerschnitzel or a less tasty version of McDonald’s. What holds it back from a full 5 stars for me is their bread could be better. Firehouse Subs and some other local sandwich shops like Bodega Park and Larchmont Village Wine & Cheese have superior bread, which is one of my favorite parts of any sandwich. Overall it’s a solid 4/5 and I would try it again in the future. The bread could be better but you really do get a lot of food and some really diverse and unique flavors. Service was also quick and made takeout easy tonight.

Decided to try this place for the first time today. I have mixed feelings about the food. The place was clean and the staff were attentive and friendly, but I doubt I will be back simply because it's not my cup of tea. I'll tell you why: There are two types of junk food ( and I consider this junk food). I personally love junk food when I do have it I enjoy it tremendously. With this place I felt it was more volume based rather than quality based. The sandwiches are very heavy ( I had the FAT TEXAS) and I did sense some interesting ingredients in there. The bread was crispy on the outside and surprisingly not that soggy on the inside (considering how much sauce they use), and the flavours worked - the crispy bacon was great! The sandwiches are very packed with pretty much anything you can think of....I love fries and they too were in the sandwich but naturally mixed in with all else...they were soggy and had lost their form entirely. So, the experience I would say is more ....you're just indulging in a "fill me up" rather than savouring taste. Here it's a question of Quality vs. Quantity and at Sal's - Quantity wins by a mile. I personally prefer smaller but higher quality.

Been wanting to try Fat Sals for a while now and finally got the chance to do it. Came in on a Saturday night and it was busy but not super busy. The place is small so it looked a lot busier than it actually was. I tried the fat Texas sandwich. So good. Everything works so well together in the sandwich. Nothing clashes. Its literally perfection. My boyfriend tried the fat Sal this sandwhich was so good. You would think with so many different food items in one sandwich that it would be weird. Nope not at all. The sandwich looks like it's not that big. Until you start eating it and one half of it is enough. The only disappointed were the fries. We tried the philly cheese steak fries and they were just blah. I mean they are literally just cheese, steak and fries. No bell pepper, no onion, no mushroom and no seasoning. The soggy fries didnt help either. They were such a let down. However I dont want to be to harsh on the fries maybe the cheeseburger fries are good or the pizza fries. I dont know. That just means I will have to come back and try them. Overall really good sandwiches.

I’ll give it two stars because the other guests I was with enjoyed their sandwiches. But I was extremely disappointed. First of all, looking at their advertisements you’d think that the sandwiches would be LARGE. FAT. If you will. The sandwich was smaller than anything I would ever get a legitimate deli. Oh and I’ve attached a disappointing photo of the cross section as well. The sandwich was 90% French fries, 10% everything else - I got the Fat Sal. Also, another just unsatisfying thing was when I walked up to place my order, I ordered the sandwich and a side of cheese fries. The guy behind the counter proceeded to tell me there are fries on the sandwich (yes I know that I can read) to which I said yes please I would still like a side of cheese fries. The fries weren’t even crispy outside or inside the sandwich. Overall extremely disappointed by the sandwich for the price. I hope when they open back for indoor dining I can get a non wrapped sandwich, I will definitely be asking light on the fries.

Fat Sal's is a sandwich place. In a sense. It's also a shake place. It's also a burger place. Yet, that's not the allure of why people go here. It's how they MAKE these concoctions of food that are given normal names to justify they are indeed a sandwich, shake, or burger. The things that are put inside them though, oh dear, that's a different matter altogether. A single sandwich carries chicken fingers, mozzarella stick, cheese fries, and more! It's several meals all rolled into one item, and one usually orders multiple items to ingest. Thus, the Fat part in Fat Sal's name. The food is good though! It's more than filling si definitely go hungry or if you been out late they also stay open til 3 in the morning. Definitely worth your weight in deliciousness. Plus, if you are feeling super hungry or adventurous, they do have a Fat shake or burger that runs you 99 dollars. That's right! So clne get your fill at Fat Sal's they're making food ova here!
