MUSUME — Restaurant in Los Angeles

I’ve been eagerly awaiting the opening of this restaurant and finally went in for lunch to find out they’ve been open a few weeks now. Intimate place open til 9pm. I ordered the sushi lunch plate which was excellent. The fish was very fresh and cool. Red miso soup had a great kick over the typical white miso I usually get served in other Japanese restaurants. They make gluten free soy sauce and broths, I believe. Anyway fresh green salad and rice topped with white and black sesame seeds. Ginger and wasabi for those who like to sweat. Garnished with finely julienned daikon radish and shiso leaves and more! Check out the photo. Excellent friendly and attentive service. The dining experience at MUSUME was sublime. Everything was beyond expectation. Toro!!! Smoked Salmon Belly!! Come on, the edamame was truffle salted.

Our waiter, T, knew and made the best suggestions. He was a living menu and never steered us wrong.

This is the kind of place that is a hidden gem and is about to blow up, but I almost don’t want it to, because I wanna get a table next month.

It deserves to be packed, because these chefs and servers are feeding the souls of those who are hungry for accessible elegance and culinary excellence.
